  • Evangeliet i ei ny tid

  • A wonderful weekend in the east

    Skien.jpg
We had a very good weekend with the growing churches in Skien and in Stokke. The church in Skien celebrated the official dedication of their new meeting place. A lot of new people attended the well planned service. The highlight of the gathering was the group of refugees singing and dancing to the glory of God.
In the service in Stokke we took part in setting in through the laying on of hands Tormod Sandvik as a new elder in addition to Lasse Tretteteig and Geir Mellingen who already serve as elders to the church. Many encouraging prophetic words were spoken to them and to the church.
It is wonderful to see these two churches in the eastern part of Norway being in a phase of enlargement and reaching out. I am convinced that what we are seeing taking place in these two young churches we will see take place many other places in that part of Norway.

  • Ikkje eigen interesse, men Guds vilje!

Ikkje eigen interesse, men Guds vilje. Ikkje eigen ære, men Guds ære.

  • Visiting Skien and Stokke

Today I am going to Skien together with Knut Osland to participate in the dedication of the new meeting place of the covenant community. Saturday morning there will be a leadership seminar in which Noralv Askeland will be teaching. Sunday night there will be a great celebration service in the new meeting place. I am looking forward being with the saints and to rejoice with them in the goodness of in Lord in giving them this wonderful place in the very heart of the city.
Sunday morning we are meeting with the church in Stokke to ordain a new elder in the covenant community in that locality. This church is quite young as it was started only a few years ago. It is growing in numbers and is enjoying the blessing of God in the midst of trials and challenges.

  • Living beyond self-interest

To be somebody is to live beyond self-interest
Knowing that you are sent on a mission
Knowing that your life has a purpose
    Knowing why you are here
Not living for yourself but for something greater than yourself
Not living for self-interest but for the will of God
Not living for your own honour but to glorify God

Those who do the works they are sent to do
Are really somebody who have achieved a lot in life
For they have embraced the cross
    And died to themselves
    To become something for others

  • My new book is published in Gujerati

It was a great joy to receive my first copy of my new book “The Kingdom of God”, published in the Gujerati language of India, during my recent visit to my friend Chandrakant Chavada. Even though I could not understand a single word, not even a single letter, I felt very good when I could take the book in my hands, giving thanks to God for his wonderful grace making this possible.
I finished the book in English one year ago, and I am still looking forward having the English version published. Perhaps there will even be a Norwegian version published in the future?

Normes linkar

  • Having books published

To be somebody is writing books
    And having books published
Even in languages you can’t read
    Long time before the books
Are published in your own mother tongue

    I am somebody
When I am a published author
Of many books in my own language
But it is even greater to be published
In foreign languages you can’t read
But the greatest is to live a life
    Written in acts of love
Made known among the unknown and neglected people
If my life could be an example
    For others to follow
To make the world a better place to be
    Then I am really somebody
Even if I have not written a single article
