  • God does not listen to the voice, but to the heart!

Along with my daily reading of the Scripture I have been reading a kind of devotional book consisting of daily readings from the Church Fathers. Today I came a cross a wise saying that found resonans in my heart. Cyprian said: "God does not listen to our voice, but to our heart." Men look at the external, but God looks to the heart, is another way of saying the same thing.

It gives me great joy and security to know that God sees me and knows me, even better than I know myself. He knows the inner longings of my heart and he is not confused by the words I use or the sound of my voice. When I delight in him, he will give me what my heart desires!

I want to be like a green olive tree in the garden of God. As a righteous man I will flourish like a palm tree, and I will grow like a cedar in Lebanon. I know I am planted in the house of God and I will flourish in the courts of our Lord. Even when I am getting old I will still yield fruit, and I will be full of vitality and fruitfulness as I declare that the Lord is upright; he works all things after his purpose and will. He listens to my heart! He is a faithful God. He will build his house as he is branching out from where is he dwelling!

  • Prophetic ministry – a Green Tree?

This morning I had an interesting email from William, a twenty one year old student intercessory missionary. He wanted to know more of the concept of Green Trees. He had come to understand that the concept of Green Trees represent mature prophets mentoring younger prophets. Now he is asking for my help to find some Scriptures that clearly explain the concept in this way.

I had a problem. I am not familiar with the concept of Green Trees. However, I was stirred in my heart by the topic and want to explore the concept further. I sense God wants to say something to me and many others through this concept. During my recent visit to India, a prophet prophesied Psalm 92:12-15 to me. In these verses the righteous are spoken of as green trees, – full of life and vitality, – and fruitfulness.

I invite all my friends to read the request I received, the answer I gave, and to join me in exploring the concept, and sharing all insight with me.

  • Lær av dei kristne i India!

For nokre år sidan møtte eg tidlegare sjefkirug Victor Choudrie i India.

  • A refreshing time in Jaipur

Jaipur is a wonderful city. I love the Pink City. There are so many things to explore in the capital of Rajasthan. We walked the bazaars, enjoyed the busy life and took in all the exotic odours. We looked a traditional shoes made of camel leather. I have already bought several pairs and I love them. Our friends took us to some very nice restaurants.

Manish, our friend from Pizza Hut, took us to a wonderful ethnic resort outside the city of Jaipur. They had recreated a traditional Rajasthani village at that place. We had a very good time at that place. I only regret that I have forgot the name of the place. Perhaps some of my Indian friends will help me by leaving a comment?

Sunday morning we were taken to a fellowship of mainly Sindhi people that have come to the Lord in recent time. It was such a wonderful experience to worship together with them, even though we could not understand their language! More than 80 people were packed into the large living room of the house. I was so blessed and refreshed by being with this covenant community. God is doing a wonderful work among these precious people. New people are coming to Christ all the time!

  • The Yanadi people are being blessed

We had a wonderful day at the Yanadi Blessing Community at Koduru when we visited them a week ago. I will never forget their joy and thankfulness as we were shown the new homes that had been provided for them. It was a dream to them to be given these houses. But the houses were all most empty. These poor people had as good as no personal belongings.

  • You must be a child of God!

We have been visiting Venkateswara Rao and his organisation "Faith Action for Community Transformation" which is running many social and educational programs for the poorest of the poorest in Andra Pradesh. We have been able to raise some funds for victims of the Tsunami. This time we only visited one of the projects we have been involved in. So far we have provided 43 fishing boats and about 300 fishing nets. We have provided drinking waters and irrigation canals for some villages, and we have provided houses for 122 people!

I will never forget what happened to us that day we were visiting the 122 people that had moved into their new houses. An elderly man and his family looked me into my eyes and said: "You must be a child of God! We used to live in the mud. We were treated like animals. This is a dream to us! You are like angels of God to us! Thank you! Thank you! I never thought that this could happen in my generation. I was hoping that the third next generation would be able to live in a house, but now we have a house of our own! It is a dream!"

My heart broke and I could not hold back my tears as I stood in front of this happy and thankful family! Thanks to the Lord and his people this miracle has taken place.

    To God be the glory!
