Today we are going to the northern part of Norway to take part in the Bible Week in Harstad. Nearly 200 people have registered this year and that is a good increase from last year!
The apostolic commission given to the people of God will be the focus for all preaching and teaching during this week. To be able to fulfil the apostolic commission in our generation we need harmonious families and open homes as the base for church life and the advance of the Kingdom of God. We also are totally dependent of the presence and power of the Holy Spirit!
As we come together this week in Harstad I am full of joy and anticipation, expecting the power of God to be manifested in our midst, causing many people to take up the challenge of our time and plant house-churches all over the northern part of Norway, Sweden and Finland!

Creativity and beautiful living
To be somebody is to create life
In the virtual world or by physical material
It is to give it a new form
That touches other people’s lives
Because it stirs their emotions
Speaking with or without words
Making the imagination pregnant
Releasing exuberant joy
And fruitful ideas of the heart
Generating new forms of lifeTo be somebody is releasing others into creative living
By rejecting the self-absorbed life
For a life of generosity and nobility
The great things of a creative life
Come out of small acts of faithfulness and love
Every creative act is created in a generous heart
Not out of selfishness or self-indulgence
Creativity and generosity always result in a work of beauty -

Feeding ducks on the veranda
Sunday evening I had an unusual experience. I was standing on the veranda looking at the beautiful view of the small boats on the fjord in front of me. Suddenly two quite big birds was flying over me and landed in the garden of my neighbour. “Look,” I said to Solveig, “Two big birds!”
In the next moment they left the ground flying towards us and landing on the veranda! I was amazed! Two ducks in reaching distance in front of me. Solveig brought some dry bread and I started to feed them. To my amazement they both eventually ate from my hand! What a joy, what a privilege!

Solveig had just before this happened mentioned to me the two ravens who brought food for the prophet Elijah on the command of the Lord. This Sunday night the Lord used me to feed two ducks! What a good way of keeping me happy and humble! -
Free to create a new lifestyle
To be somebody is to be free
From dead forms and unnatural rituals
– of the old traditional religion
Not giving in to artificial patterns
– of modern Christianity
Not serving inhuman systems
– of political ideologies
Not giving in to any thing that stifles lifeTo be free is to create your own lifestyle
By submitting to the design of your Creator
Only when you choose to be the person
You are designed to be in the image of God
You are enabled to create a beautiful life
Because you are free to choose the beauty of holinessTo be somebody is to realise
That freedom and bondage
Depend on your own decision -
Standing tall and upright
To be somebody is to stand tall
In the midst of opposition
Standing upright on your own feet
With your head lifted high
Receiving scorn and mockery
As token of distinction
Taking despising remarks
From the political correct people
As medals of highest honour -
E-learning
I have been reading on e-learning the last few days as well as visiting some resource sites which have been very exciting! This is an area I need and like to explore more as it can be an effective tool in fulfilling the Great Commission.
Here are some of the sites I found interesting:
E-learning Guru
Edutools
Educational blogs
Learning. For a change -
Pushing yourself forward
To be somebody is to push yourself forward
It is to lift your head above the mass
Avoiding being choked by the boring sameness of sin
Or being imprisoned by accepted rules
It is to make yourself free from conventional views
As you follow the Truth in ministering Grace
Liberating people around you to breathe freely
Even in the hostile environment of consumerism
As they keep looking steadily into God’s perfect law
– the law that sets people free -
Enjoying strawberries
Enjoying strawberries
During our wonderful vacation in Spain, Solveig and I enjoyed strawberries to the full every day! Some days we enjoyed them as they where given by nature, we were just eating them as they were! We were eating lots of them (at least I did)! Other days Solveig prepared them nicely, serving them in a nice bowl with cream or ice-cream. Some mornings we had lots of strawberries with our cereals! But strawberries we enjoyed every day!
Even after our return to Norway we have had strawberries. Not Norwegian strawberries, for they have not been available here in Bergen yet. But the Belgium strawberries have been quite reasonable price-wise and very good taste-wise. Neither Spanish nor Belgium strawberries can compare with the Norwegian strawberries! But they are cheaper! And they are indeed very good!

Holiday in Spain is over!
Tonight we came home from a wonderful time in Spain. I had made arrangements for pictures from our vacation last year to be published with a few words while we were away. Solveig wasn’t too happy with all the pictures and now I have deleted all the pictures from last year. Hopefully in a few days I will be able to show some of the pictures from this summer vacation in Spain.
I had hoped that I would be able to be connected while in Spain, but I has been offline all of my vacation. That was even a nice experience
