I am watching the awesome opening ceremony of the Olympic Games at the moment. Nation after nation is passing by in colourful clothes and beautiful customs. My heart is stirred and moved with compassion as well as joy and appreciation of the manifold display of human beings, all for whom Jesus Christ died to provide salvation and eternal life. I wonder about these nations of the world passing by on the screen in front of me. Have the heard the message of the Kingdom? Who is going to reach these precious peoples with the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ?

Having a dream
Yesterday a friend of mine received a sms telling of a catch of a big fish with the weight of 92 kg. After that victorious report the sms ended like this: He who has a dream experiences! I was blessed by that short sentence.
I have a dream! I have a great and adventures dream. And as a result I have a great life! I have been dreaming since I was a small, weak and diseased boy at the hospital, given up by the doctors. I dreamt when I was a teenager, and I got my dream girl, Solveig. We have been dreaming together for more than 40 happy years. I had the dream of having children fulfilled. The Lord generously gave us six wonderful children. And I have had the dream of having grandchildren fulfilled. So far God has given us eleven most wonderful grandchildren. Now I am dreaming of great grandchildren! And I have many other dreams as well. I am even dreaming of publishing a book containing my dreams in poetic form! I am also dreaming of going to many more nations, crossing new borders, to bring new people groups the good news of the Kingdom of God.

Finishing “Finding Your Place”
Today I have been work hard all day to finish my four books in the ”Finding Your Place”. I have finished the four books in the series many times now and am hoping this is the final completion. I think it is just minor corrections to be done now. The way it is now, the Norwegian edition is better than the English one. I might have to update the English one as well. Hopefully the Norwegian edition would be printed by then otherwise I am afraid I will get new ideas of bettering the books. Nothing that comes from our hands is perfect! Thank you God!

I would like more believers become activly involved in used the Internet as a tool for evangelism as I myself is investigating how to advance the Kingdom of God through the use of the Web. There are a lot of recources available like this “Online training for online evangelists.” It is for ordinary people with a heart to win people for Christ!

Eg har meldt meg inn i Noregs Mållag!
Eg fekk mi opplæring i norsk på Ganddal skule der nynorsk var det naturlege språket for oss alle. Nynorsk var målet hennar mor! Då eg kom på Sandnes gymnas vart eg sett under eit sterkt press frå norsklæraren min om å velja bokmål som hovudmål. Dette ville sjølvsagt gjera det lettare for han sidan eg var den einaste som ville ha nynorsk som hovudmål. Dei andre elevane var byfolk og var opplærte til å knota på bokmål og snakka fint! Eg overlevde dei tre åra med bokmål som hovudmål, men likte det ikkje.
Etter gymnaset tok eg til å reisa og forkynna i pinseforsamlingar. Eg hadde ikkje vore lenge på den første plassen (Hauge i Dalane av alle stader!) før eg fekk klar melding av ein eldstebror om å skaffa meg ein skikkeleg bibel – på bokmål og snakka fint! Eg var snar til å gje etter for presset denne gongen, for eg oppdaga fort at alle som var ”salva” brukte bokmål når dei bad, profeterte, talte eller tyda tunger.
Det gjorde vondt då ungane våre spurte mor kvifor pappa snakka så rart på møta! Dei var vane med å høyra meg på Ganddals dialekt heime, medan eg prøvde å snakka bokmål når eg talte på møta i pinseforsamlinga!
Då vi i 1976 flytta tilbake til Rogaland gjekk eg tilbake til å bruka nynorsk bibel og snakka vanleg i alle samanheng. Det har eg halde fram med heilt til i dag. Det var som å finna meg sjølv på ein ny måte då eg vart fri til å bruka nynorsk bibel i møta og snakka slik det var naturleg for meg.
Framleis har eg press på meg om å skriva på bokmål og gjev ofte etter for å gjera det lettare for det store fleirtalet som helst vil ha dansknorsken sin på dei papir dei skal lesa.
For nokre veker sidan vart eg så provosert av eit nedsetjande ord om min iver for nynorsk at eg sette meg føre å melda meg inn i Noregs Mållag! No er det gjort, og eg oppmodar alle andre å gjera det same for å kjempa for retten til å bruka det målet som er mitt eige og det naturlege for meg og mange andre i dette landet. Nynorsken vert utsett som mange åtak, men han er verdt å kjempa for! -
Internet evangelism
While I have been away I have received two news letters from Andrew Careaga. I haven’t heard from him for a long time and it was a pleasant surprise to visit his new blog on e-evangelism. One of his entries on training in cybermission I found very intriguing. I think I will enroll on this online training course in using the internet to advance the Kingdom of God. If you want to be an Internet evangelist or cyberspace missionary, then enroll for a 12-week online training course.The next round of courses begins in October.
