  • The Hyderabad connection

We have just arrived in Hyderabad and have been installed at our hotel room. I am so excited that I have an Internet connection here. We have been to Hassan in Karnataka and to Machillipatnam in Andra Pradesh. We are enjoying wonderful fellowship with our friends and we rejoice in the goodness of God. We are in good health and thank all our friends for your prayers. We are seeing the mighty hand of God at work and we are having many good reports of His mighty wonders.

This Hyderabad connection is wire-less but quite slow. There I will end this entry which purpose was solely to let everyone know that we are still alive and kicking!

  • Quotes of Gandhi 6

A vow is a purely religious act which cannot be taken in a fit of passion. It can be taken only with a mind purified and composed and with God as witness.

  • Quotes of Gandhi 5

It may be long before the law of love will be recognised in international affairs. The machineries of government stand between and hide the hearts of one people from those of another.

  • Quotes of Gandhi 4

The test of friendship is assistance in adversity, and that too, unconditional assistance. Co-operation which needs consideration is a commercial contract and not friendship. Conditional co-operation is like adulterated cement which does not bind.

  • Celebrating the Lord with the covenant community

We have just had a wonderful time celebrating the Lord together with the covenant community in Jaipur. We have been with our family. We have rejoiced together with brothers and sisters. We danced for joy. We sang with gladness. We listened to marvelous testimonies about the goodness of God. We saw His glory in these precious people filled with love for the Lord. We shared the Word and we enjoyed the tea. We shook hands, and we embraced one another. Faces were smiling, voices were raised in exultation.

  • Safe arrival in India

Tuesday we arrived safely in India. We went by taxi from New Delhi to Jaipur. The journey took 6 hours in a new Toyota Innova. In Jaipur we were welcomed by our dear friends Brenda and Zephry D’Souza. Yesterday we celebrated Valentin’s day to gather with them, but most of all we celebrated Solveig’s birthday. We spent a full evening together at the Royal Orchid.

Today we have had a most wonderful day with a lot of beautiful young people. We have been talking about the Christian Foundation as the DNA of our new life in Christ. As we were sharing together we could feel the presence of God among us.

  • Quotes of Gandhi 2

Insistence on truth can come into play when one party practises untruth or injustice. Only then can love be tested. TRue friendship is put to the test only when one party disregards the obligation of friendship.

  • India is waiting

In just a few hours we will sit in the aeroplane on our way to India. We are longing to see our friends and spend time in fellowship with them. We have had emails from them saying they are longing and waiting for us. It is a great joy and privelege to be able to visit the great nation of India. We love the people and we have found a lot of friends there. In the days ahead I will try to blog about our visit to India. I have already pre-posted some more quotes of Gandhi.

  • Ready for India

Now I am ready to go to India again and I have counted, it is my 26th time! Once again the suitcases are packed for ourselves and one bag with clothes for children to give to some of the poor families. I have bought some gifts for the dear friends and families we have become friends with during the years. We have been praying for the trip, been in the Father’s presence and our friends in the church have been praying for us. We have said goodbye to our friends and family. Yesterday we were invited to our son Josef, his lovely wife, Elizabeth and their precious 3 children. We got a delicious dinner meal and I was even celebrated and got nice gifts for my coming Birthday in India. We will miss them but they understand why we go and promised to pray for us. But this time our son who lives in Tromsø, Karl Enok will join us in India. It is his first time and we look very much forward for his coming.

And now my heart is filled with joy and expectation, looking forward to meet our friends in this great nation, looking forward to see what God is doing among us when we meet for conferences, in house churches and fellowshipping with the few. I trust God’s promises, he is faithful with us every day. Our desire is to serve Him wholeheartedly home and away, to see His kingdom come and will be done, and now we have the privilege to serve Him 1 month in India.

  • Quotes of Gandhi

As I prepare to go to India i a few days time I have come across a little book I bought on my previous visit to India called "Quotes of Gandhi". I am a great admirerer of Mahatma Gandhi. Like him I believe in non-violence. I like to share some of the quotes of Gandhi with my friends. Let me start with this one:

There are times when you have to obey a call which is the highest of all, i.e. the voice of conscience even though such obedience may cost many a bitter tear, and even more, separation from friends, from family, from the state to which you belong, from all that you have held as dear as life itself. For this obedience is the law of our being.
