  • An apostolic visit is a visit of a dear friend and brother

    Keri Jones has been visiting Bergen the last few days. Yesterday we spent the evening together. All the church love and recognize him as an apostle of Christ, but he comes to us as a friend and a brother in Christ. We have had some meetings with him and the leaders of the church and he has been sharing his heart with us. He is opening the Word and pouring out insight gained from a long walk with God. I am always encouraged when I am together with my friend. Whether he shares from the Word of God or he just shares his heart, he always communicate faith and love.

    Yesterday evening was full of the exuberant and holy joy of friendship and brotherhood. We were joking and laughing and having deep conversations in spiritual things. He is a man of spiritual authority which he uses the right way: to build up and not to tear down. I thank God for apostles like Keri Jones. He is a true man of God. And he is a true covenant friend.

  • Believers feed on the Scripture

    We must fight to let the Word of God be our authoritative direction in our actual day-by-day living. We need to realise that the Bible reveals God’s ways to us which are necessary and basic to our formation as human beings. The personal revelation that comes to us through the Bible is telling us what it means to live as human beings created in the image of the Triune God.

  • Eat this book!

    Prophets of old and new were commanded: Eat this book! (Ezekiel. 2:8-3:3; Jeremiah. 15:16; Revelation. 10:9-10). “Get this book into your gut. Get the words of the Scripture moving through your blood-stream. Chew on these words, swallow them, digest them, and let them turn into muscle and gristle and bone. Let the Word be fleshed out in a day-by-day life of holiness.”

  • Ny bok

    For nokre dagar sidan fekk eg boka "Mening med livet?" frå trykkeriet. Denne n ye boka er ei nyskriving med mange tillegg av ei evangeliseringsbok med same tittel som vart utgjeven på Logos Forlag i si tid. Den førre utgåva er seld i omlag 300000 eksemplar på norsk, dansk, svensk, tysk og kinesisk. Eg trur at denne nye boka vil verta til hjelp for mange menneske til å koma til tru og verta kjende med Jesus Kristus.

    Eg har ikkje fått gjort boka tilgjengeleg i Erling Thu Books endå, men det kjem snart. I mellomtida kan boka tingast ved å senda ein e-post til meg. Boka har berre ein feil som eg er klar over og det er at ho er på bokmål!

  • Be watchful!

    I have been meditating on two verses in the first letter to the Corinthians lately. The apostle Paul is admonishing the believers to be watchful with these words: Be awake.  Be on guard. Stand firm in faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything with love. (1 Co 16:13-14).

    I believe that these exhortations are very timely for us today. If we heed these words we will be able to serve the purpose of God in our generation.

  • God has a plan

    I have been asked to minister the Word of God several places lately and I have been asked if I could speak on the eternal plan and purpose of God. Last night I was with a good group of young people. They responded very well. I am always happy when I am able to connect with young people.

    God has a plan and he is using people to accomplish what he has purposed. It is wonderful to know the plan and purpose of God. But it is even more exiting to be part of fulfilling the plan of God. I think it is great to be involved in what God is doing in the world today. It is a great privilege to serve the purpose of God in our generation.

  • My best seller book has been republished

    Just a few days ago I had the joy of holding my evangelistic bestseller book "Mening med livet?" (Meaning with life?) in a rewritten, updated version with new illustrations and layout. The first edition of the book was published in 1972. It has been published in Chinese, Danish, German and Swedish. The Norwegian version has been sold in more than 200.000 copies. Many people have come to faith in Christ in reading the book.

    The book has been out of print for many years now but I have had many requests for it to be reprinted. However the book needed to be rewritten and updated. I am very grateful to Per Filip Osland and Tormod Åsen for their help with the illustrations and the new layout. I am convinced that this small book will be used by God to bring new people into the Kingdom of God.

    The book has been translated into English but so far I have not found a publisher!

  • Playing in the snow in June

    Img_0597Img_0585 Img_0605_3 While I was visiting Tromsø I was able to play in the snow together with my grandson Daniel! On Saturday we went for a long walk or we were rather climbing the mountains behind the house. I have been walking or climbing with Daniel before but this time we went further than ever. There was a lot of snow in the mountains and I enjoyed playing with my grandson. We even built a cairn at one of the mountain tops. God is good given us grandchildren to play with in the snow in June!

  • A weekend of the Spirit

    The weekend in Tromsø turned out to be a weekend of the Spirit. From beginning to end the Spirit was moving powerfully among the covenant community. At the first gathering the prophetic Spirit moved upon many of us to bring prophetic insight and messages from God to people. At the second large gathering the same thing happened. At smaller gathering we experienced the presence of God among us.

  • Five years of blogging

    Today I celebrate five years of blogging by posting my first post on Blogspot and then I add some meditations on being a blogger.

    To be somebody
    is to take small and big jumps
    into the unknown territory
    safely walking in faith
    confidently trusting the Beginning and the End
    to guide and carry me
    through the deep waters
    over the high mountains of human limitations
    to soar to new horizons
    to lay down and dream in a lush meadow
    to create my first blog
