  • Love, serve, worship

This morning I was reading in the book of prophet Jeremiah. Then I came across this expression: the gods my people have loved, served and worshiped, in 8:2. The Almighty was accusing the people of loving, serving and worshiping other gods. But these three words got stuck with me.

  • The challenge of Internet

Computer networks are now the most crucial battleground for the minds and souls of people across the world"  – Walt Wilson, founder of Global Media Outreach

What do we do about it? Through the ministries of Global Media Outreach the gospel is presented online once every five seconds and a decision for Christ is made every 120 seconds! We need more people taking part in this kind of evangelism!

  • Living my dream

God has been very good to me! He has given me a wonderful dream which he also has enabled me to be living! My dream is not just empty wiches or a pipe dream. It is a living reality. It is something that has captivated me and is motivating me. It is something that is carrying me forward, lifting me up, given me a new perspective on life, given me a living hope!

  • I have a dream

This summer I felt God spoke to me about describing the dream he had given me. I tried to do it at the Bible Week at Stokke in July. It was very well received and many people gave me encouraging feedback on what I had shared. At the elders conference in Wales Keri Jones shared his dream and I was happy to realize that we share the same dream. But we not only share the dream, we are also part of the dream and will see it fulfilled in our life time! In days to come I will spend more time in describing the dream God has given me and encourage other believers to do the same! God fulfils dreams!

  • Being Church where we live

This is a title of a book I just started to read on the plane on my way back home to Bergen. It reminded me a lot of ideas that motivated me on my quest for the real church more than 30 years ago. I must admit that we in some ways were nearer to the ideal when we pioneered Kristent Fellesskap in Farsund in the early eighties than we are today. But on the other side we are better equipped today to realise what we dreamt of then! I am still dreaming of the church as an expression of the Kingdom of God, a community of God’s people in a locality demonstrating the righteousness, peace and joy of the Holy Spirit in practical down to earth living together in such a way that Jesus Christ may be seen by the people in my neighbourhood!

  • Waiting at Gatwick Airport

We have enjoyed our time with Hanna, Dal, Taj Kristian, Jai Ruben and Sunniva Isha over the weekend. It is always good to be with our daugther and son in law, and we especially enjoy our sweet grandchildren. We had to leave them at 10.30 in the morning to catch the bus to Gatwick. Arriving the airport before we needed to be here we have been waiting to check in and now we are waiting for our flight that has been delayed! Airports are testing places for our patience! God is good! I have been able to get my email and now to post an entry to my blog just to let people know that I am still alive!

  • Fresh anointing

Keri Jones has been doing some wonderful ministry on the anointing and living in the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit! As he has been ministring the Word in the power of the Spirit I think most of us have been receiving a fresh anointing from the Holy Spirit!

There has been a good time of reporting about what God is doing in the churches represented at this conference at All Nations Centre in Cardiff. I have been encourage to hear the testimonies of these leaders. Clearly God is moving among his people!

Still to me the ministry of the Word in the power of the Holy Spirit by Keri Jones has been the highlight to me during this time we have had together in this conference. Fresh anointing and moving in the supernatural power of the Spirit is most needed for all of us I think. After reading Mega Shift I am left with this simple truth: It is not by human cleverness or programs but only by the Spirit of God that His church will multiply and fill the world with His glory!

  • Arriving in Wales

Yesterday Solveig and I arrived in London Gatwick airport together with our fellow elders and their wives. After some planning of which route to follow towards Cardiff the young elders were driving one rented car and the older elders another one. That was a big mistake!

  • Visiting Wales

Today Solveig and I will join our fellow elders and their wives for a visit to Wales. We plan to spend time together as a team of leaders as well as joining a conference of British leaders of growing churches. Hopefully I will be connected to the wider world so I may keep up my blogging!

  • Mega Shift – descriptive or normative?

I find great joy in reading Mega Shift by James Rutz. It is an exciting book that brings us so many true stories of what God is doing in the world today. And it is a very challenging book when we compare with what is going on in traditional Christian circles in the West.

One of my main concern has been to be able to discern between the descriptive and the normative aspects of the book. Clearly Rutz has an agenda. Therefore his conclusions sometimes are too much coloured by his agenda and he is no longer descriptive but tries to be normative where he should have left that to the Holy Spirit!

I have still not read the whole book and will try to write an evaluation when I have gone through the entire book. At the moment I can only recommend people to read the book for themselves!
