A new operative system

Being a Christian is to live a new life fueled by a new motivational power in a total new operative system of the Holy Spirit. Living by faith is to constantly abandon yourself to the grace of God and the guidance of the Spirit, who is not only installing a new operative system, a new value system, – but he is also reprogramming our mind. If we allow the Spirit to take control of our life and our churches we will become bold and radical in the way we deal with ourselves and the traditional ways we run our churches.

We all have a tendency to do things our own way, to follow our own mind, and to seek a comfortable life. We prefer to live within the comfort zone and stay with the usual way of running religious activities and doing church.

The Church is not something we do or run, but a life we live in fellowship with the Triune God and fellow believers. Jesus Christ himself is the only who can build the Church which is his body. We are members of that body. We have been placed together with people different from us according to the will of God. We have been created with needs so that we may learn that we need each other. We are not created to be self-sufficient, but to be joined together in a reciprocal relationship of giving and receiving from one another.

God wants the church to be fruitful and to multiply churches that multiply churches. Most of our churches do not live such a natural life of reproduction and multiplication. That is a challenge we all need to face up to and take serious. The Kingdom of God is dynamic. It is like seeds falling to the ground to die and multiply. It is like yeast that is permeating everything is touches. It is ever expanding and ever changing its environment to the better.

Most of our services are very much the same week after week. Most of our religious activities are predictable and produces little spiritual fruit. It is time to allow the Spirit of Life to take control and take us forward. Trusting the Spirit is like trowing yourself into a 30.000 feet deep, expecting him to carry you through.
