The silence of a prophet

As I was meditating on the Lord and asking him about the prophetic ministry I felt the Lord dropped this sentence in my heart:

"The silence of a prophet of the Lord speaks much louder than the prophecies of one thousand prophets of the established order."

or the prophecies of ten thousands of common prophets

or the prophecies of ten thousands of official prophets

or the prophecies of ten thousands of prophets of any religious establishment

I have been meditating on that word of the Lord to me ever since. Several Scripture portions have come to my mind illustrating the truth of the word to me. Certainly there is a time to speak,  and there is a time to be silent. The right word spoken at the right time is as beautiful as gold apples in a silver bowl (Proverbs 24:11).

I have been meditating on the silence of a prophet ever since the Lord dropped the sentence in my heart. I wonder if my friends have some insight to share on this subject. Why is a prophet silent? What makes him silent? Is it right for a prophet to be silent and not prophecy when seemingly there is a hunger for prophetic utterances? Why is it that at times the word of the Lord is rare, and there are very few visions?

I believe when a prophet has prophecied many times over same issue to a person/people The Holy Spirit will speak in the heart to those who recieved the prophecies. For the second people wanna see them fulfilled, and when it not happen at any moment it can be disappointing..etc and their faith become “status quo”. So I believe it’s good for a prophet to focus on the time right now when situations like this is coming up.

Facing the Red Sea while pursued by the Egyptians Moses seemingly was silent before the LORD and the LORD replied, ‘why are you crying out to me?’ (Exodus 14:15). This inner cry from the heart of God’s prophet moved the LORD to do one of the most significant miracles ever performed in human history. I believe this kind of prophetic silence can serve the purposes of God again in our day and age!
‘This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength’ (Jeremiah 30:15).
