  • A new season of the Spirit

    I am so excited about what God is doing among us these days. The church in Bergen and the network of churches that we are a part of are entering into a new season of the Spirit. A new day is dawning in a new season in the entire apostolic work.

  • The heart of a friend

    I shot an arrow into the air,

    It fell to earth, I knew not where;

    For so swiftly it flew the sight

    Could not follow it in its flight.

    I breathed a song into the air,

    It fell to earth, I knew not where;

    For who has sight so keen and strong

    That it can follow the flight of a song?

    Long, long afterward in an oak

    I found the arrow, still unbroken;

    And the song, from beginning to end,

    I found again in the heart of a friend.

    Text: H.W. Longfellow

  • The language of friendship

    Recently I came across some wonderful sayings on friendship and I would like to share it with my friends:

    Do not protect yourself by a fence, but rather by your friends. Czech proverb

    The language of friendship is not words but meanings. H.D. Thoreau

  • An owl in the fireplace

    We have had an exciting weekend at the house in the forest again. The weather has been wonderful. The leaves of the trees are starting to bud. Many flowers are in full bloom. The air is filled with songs of many birds. And our house was filled the noise of happy grandchildren!

    Four o’clock in the morning, my grandson Jakob, woke me up. He had something exciting to tell: "There is a owl in the fireplace!" I couldn’t believe him. I thought he was having a dream. But he insisted there was a owl in the fireplace. Eventually I got out of bed and walked into the hall to see for my self. First I heard the noise coming from the fireplace. Then I could see through the glass door something moving inside the fireplace. Jakob was absolute right. There was a living owl in the stove! It wanted to come out. I opened the front door first, then I open the glass door of the fireplace, and the big owl flew out into the night. What an exciting experience!

    I wonder if this incidence has any prophetic meaning?

  • Quotes of Gandhi 15

    As soon as we lose the moral basis, we cease to be religious. There is no such thing as religion over-riding morality. Man, for instance, cannot be untruthful, cruel or incontinent and claim to have God on his side.

  • Being refreshed in the Spirit

    At the Easter conference there was a strong emphasis on being led by the Spirit in every area of life. The Lord even spoke of a new time of refreshing in the Spirit. He said that he wanted to take us out of the things we know and into new dimensions in the Spirit.

  • The meaning of the Cross

    On Good friday Keri Jones gave us a very profound message on the meaning of the Cross. To me that was the highlight of the Easter conference.

  • Focus on Christ

    The Easter conference is over. God has spoken very clearly to us through his apostles Keri Jones and Noralv Askeland. They have been focusing on Christ in us – the hope of glory.

  • Quotes of Gandhi 14

    Suffering cheerfully endured, ceases to be suffering and is transmuted into an ineffable joy.

  • Easter conference

    Yesterday our Easter conference started. About 600 people were gathered in the building of the Christ Church.in the evening. It was great to see many friends again, some after a long time, others I see more often. Noralv Askeland ministered the word of God in this first meeting. He spoke of the mercy of God. "Once you received none of God’s mercy; now you have received his mercy" (1 Peter 2:10). He was underlining that God is a good God and therefore he is showing mercy. Only by the mercy of God will we see fulfilled what we are working towards. When God shows mercy we find grace to do what we have to do. The mercy of God is creating faith and love in our life. Faith and love are the only things that matters, not activities or anything else. The mercy of God is our only motivation in bringing our body and entire life to God as a living sacrifice.
