The meaning of the Cross

On Good friday Keri Jones gave us a very profound message on the meaning of the Cross. To me that was the highlight of the Easter conference.

Keri started by saying that old methods don’t work any longer. And if we have seen the Invisible we will be secure in every circumstances. The Spirit has come to tell us about our future. When we are filled with the Spirit we will be secure and not easily shaken.

Galatians 3:1-3 was the text he used to explain to us the meaning of the Cross. The apostle Paul spoke to the believers in a strange way, as they were foolish, but were supposed to be wise. "Oh, foolish Galatians! For you used to see the meaning of Jesus Christ’s death." The meaning of the Cross is for us to be able to receive the Holy Spirit. The Spirit is the meaning of the Cross and it can be seen in 3 dimensions:

1. God is for us! He is not against us. He gives eternal life to those who believes, and even much more that that. 2.Pet.3:9 says that God don’t want anybody to be lost. He wants all of us to be righteous, successful, have prosperity, health, joy etc.

2. God is with us! His name is Immanuel. John 1:14; 1.John 1:1-3; John 14:9

3. God is within us! Acts 2:1-4. The purpose of the cross was that God could come in live within us, that Christ could be multiplied and his life seen in his people. Romans 8:5-9. The only difference between a non believer and a Christian believer is the Holy Spirit.

According to Col. 1:25-27 there is a new person living on the inside of us, that is Christ in us – by the Holy Spirit.
