At our Bible week at Stokke in July Neil Cole from USA ministered to us. He was a great blessing through the message of life that he ministered in word, attitude and action. In fact his life among us was a message in itself. He was a great communicator, but also a man of a Christlike character. His overall theme was how to cultivate an organic church growth or to see multiplication of disciples.

Unity is pleasant
Since Monday to Wednesday I have been with the apostolic team at Gullbotn. We have had a very blessed time together. Psalm 133 came to my mind when I thought of the gathering. How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity and harmony! It has really been pleasant to be together in prayer and dialog. We have shared our heart with one another. We have joked and laughed together. We have enjoyed some delicious meals together. God is so good!

Praying, eating and sharing the Word
Everything seems to be back to normal life after a wonderful summer. I have praying with my fellow servants of God in the city, and I have been praying with the leaders in the church. These prayer gatherings are part of my normal activities when I am home in Bergen. I enjoy meeting with my friends and praying regularly together.

Å vera gift
Då den ynsgte dottera vår gifta seg i sommar vart eg beden om å lesa eit dikt om ekteskapet i viinga. Det enda med at eg skreiv eit dikt om det å vera gift som eg las og fekk gode tilbakemeldingar på. Difor legg eg det ut her!

Let it be with me just as you say!
I have been encouraged and challenged by the response Mary gave to the angel Gabriel when he had spoken of impossible things to take place in her life. She willingly responded: "I am the Lord’s servant, ready to serve, May what you say take place with me!" The angel had just explained that nothing is ever ompossible to God, and that the Holy Spirt would come upon her and the power of the Most High would overshaddow her to bring to pass what the Lord had destined for her.

Skattesnusk
Ordføraren i Oslo har ufriviljug fått hovudrolla i mediestormen om skattesnusk. Eg skal ikkje ta stilling til mediekjøret om økonomisk kriminalitet og dumskapen til ordføraren. All sunn fornuft seier at slikt skal ikkje førekoma og serleg ikkje hjå folk som lever av tillit, slik politikarar gjer. Alle bør betala den skatten som samfunnet legg på dei for å gjera landet vårt til ein god stad å bu og veksa opp i. Me må alle ta ansvar for det store fellesskapet og betala skatt med glede.

Changing the stars
Last night Solveig and I relaxed by watching a movie on TV. It was a very simple story about the son of a thatcher who wanted to become a knight. He was told that he could not achieve that because that would be like changing the stars. However, he was determined to change the stars and his father told him that it could be done by faith. The boy overcame many obstacles because of his fearlessness and his persistent faith and eventually saw his dream come true.

Eit nytt menneske legg av det gamle
Bibelen tek i bruk sterke og fargerike ord når han skildrar den store omveltinga det er å verta ein kristen – ein Jesu etterfylgjar. Mange av desse orda understrekar den store gjennomgripande endringa som hender i ein augneblink. Me snakkar ofte i fortid slik eg gjer i det første avsnittet nå me snakkar om å verta frelst. Me seier ”eg vart, eg har vorte, difor er eg” og det høyrest ut som om alt er avslutta og me kan ikkje verta meir enn me alt er.

My blogging vacation is over
It has been a long absence from blogging this summer. It has never happened before that I have been away for such a long period. No I am looking forward sharing my life on my blog again.
This summer has been quite busy with two Bible Weeks, a big wedding, time with grandchildren at the house in the forest, the death and funeral of a dear friend, painting the new house and working on the property in Lindås. It has all worked together for good in the sense of making our summer full of experiences of God. When we live with God, everything is meaningful. Even if we don’t understand everything, we experience God’s presence and gracious help in every situation. The ever present God, who cares for us, makes everyday an adventure. There is no dull moment for a believer.
I have many plans for my blogging activities, but only time will show if I am able to carry them out.
