Last night we returned to Bergen after a long journey from Sri Lanka and India. We went from summer to winter. We went from about 30 degrees in Colombo to minus 3 degrees at home. The bed felt like an ice box. It took a long time to get warm enough to sleep. But eventually both of us had a good sleep. Today I have been heating the entire house with my fire place. When we reached 26 degrees we felt very comfortable. Tomorrow we go up north to Tromsø to visit the covenant community as well as our grandchildren, and we are told that we will have minus 10 degrees while we are there.
Solveig has already started to prepare for Christmas today. The advent lights are out and the Christmas star is shining in the window. This morning she served Christmas Masala Chai. She has never had such a short time to prepare for Christmas before, but I a confident that everything will be just perfect. My wife is the most wonderful home maker. She is creative and hard working, and she loves to make the home a place of beauty, peace and joy. I am so thankful to God for his gift to me!
In fact she is more than a home maker. She is also my best friend and co-worker in the gospel. On this trip to India and Sri Lanka she has functioned very well alongside me and been a great blessing to many people. She has a gift of bringing encouraging teaching in a very personal way which is very much appreciated. But more than anything else she is functioning very strongly in a prophetic anointing and capacity.
When we go from summer to winter in a short time we really need to be able to adapt to the new circumstances. As a covenant community we are facing constant changes taking place in the society in which we live, and we need to be led by the Spirit to be able to adapt to those changes without compromising our covenant life and doctrine. Changes are taking place very rapidly these days. So many believers are not prepared to tackle these changes, and even many believers are too ready to compromise.
Covenant people are facing a colder climate at the moment, but we will overcome every obstacle that we face because of our covenant God who is with us and who is backing his word. I am confident that we will see great breakthroughs in the day ahead as we stand firm on the word and move swiftly with the Spirit to adapt to the changing circumstances we are facing.
