  • It is finished, my bride!

These are the triumphant words of Jesus on the cross, before he surrendered his spirit to God, in "The Passion Translation." I was reading this chapter this morning and these words hit me, as they were a bit different from the usual translations. At the footnote I found a plausible explanation.

"The Passion Translation" often uses the Aramaic version of the New Testament instead of or together with the Greek Text. Normally the Aramaic text will fill out or give additional meaning to the Greek text in this translation. The footnote to John 19:20, "It is finished, my bride!", refer to a Hebrew word, kalah. I assume it is taken from the Hebrew New Testament and I would like to share the full footnote with my readers:

  • What is the source of science?

I am reading av very interesting book at the moment. The book is written by Vishal Mangalwadi from India and has this title: "The Book That Made Your World – How the Bible created the soul of the Western civilization." I have only read half the book so far, but I can truly recommend it! Today i like to share what he says about science.

  • Misjon og utdanning

For nokre dagar sidan fekk me tilsendt ein video frå India som me vart oppmoda å spreia.

  • Lord, you know everything about me

Lord, you know everything there is to know about me.

You perceive every moment of my heart and soul, and you understand every thought before it even enters my mind.

You are so intimately aware of me, Lord. You read my heart like an open book and you know all the words I'm about to speak before I even start a sentence! You know every step I will take before my journey even begins.

You've gone into my future to prepare the way, and in kindness you follow behind me to spare me from the harm of my past. With your hand of love upon my life, you impart a blessing to me.

This is just too wonderful, deep, and incomprehendsible! Your understanding for me brings me wonder and strength.

Where could I go from your Spirit? Where could I run and hide from your face?

If I go up to heaven, you're there! If I go down to the realm of the dead, you're there too!

If I fly with wings into the shining dawn, you're there! If I fly into the radiant sunset, you're there waiting!

Wherever I go, your hand will guide me; your strength will empower me.

It's impossible to disappear from you or to ask the darkness to hide me, for your presence is everywhere, bringing light into my night.

There is no such thing as darkness with you. The night, to you, is as bright as the day; there is no difference between the two.

You formed my innermost being, shaping my delicate inside and my intricate outside, and wove them all together in my mother's womb.

I thank you, God, for making me so mysteriously complex! Everything you do is marvelously breathtaking. It simply amazes me to think about it! How thoroughly you know me, Lord!

You even formed every bone in my body when you created me in the secret place, carefully, skillfully shaping me from nothing to something.

You saw who you created me to be before I became me! Before I'd ever seen the light of day, the number of the days you planned for me were already recorded in you book.

Every single moment you are thinking of me! How precious and wonderful to consider that you cherish me constantly in your every thought! O God, your desires towards me are more than the grains of sand on every shore! When I awake each morning, you're still with me.

O God, come and slay these bloodthirsty, murderous men! For I cry out, "Depart from me, you wicked ones!"

See how they blaspheme your sacred name and lift up themselves against you, but all in vain!

Lord, can't you see how I despise those who despise you? For I grieve when I see them rise up against you.

I have nothing but complete hatred and disgust for them. Your enemies shall be my enemies!

God, I invite your searching gaze into my heart. Examine me through and through; find out everything that may be hidden within me. Put me to the test and sift through all my anxious cares.

See if there is any path of pain I'm walking on, and lead me back to your glorious, everlasting ways – the path that brings me back to you.

  • Jesu bønn for oss

I dag har eg lese Jesu bønn i Johannes 17 i "The Passion Translation".

  • Meeting with the people of God

God has blessed us and enabled us to travel and visit many covenant communities. It is always a great joy to meet with the people of God. This week we have been to Skudesnes, Egersund, Etne and Stavanger. Each place we have had sweet fellowship with wonderful people. At every gathering we have encountered God among his people. Whenever we meet with our covenant friends we are being encouraged and strengthened. The communion of the saints is priceless. We develop holy friendship and lasting relationship through the Holy Spirit.

We thank for this privilege of having a travelling ministry. And we thank for for the joy and blessings of belonging to a local church. We thank God for our house church. We thank God for being able to share meals with one another. We praise God for blessings of laying on of hands. We are praying for one another. We are blessing one another. We are joined together by the Spirit.

God lives among his people. And he invites us to live in his house, in his presence. He invites us to be face to face with him. There is nothing better in the entire world than to be with God – face to face. The most precious thing is to be with Jesus. His presence is life.

Spora hans flyt over av åndeleg rikdom.

  • His tender love for us continues on forever

Let everyone thank God, for he is good, and he is easy to please!

His tender love for us continues on forever!

Give thanks to God, our King over all gods!

His tender love for us continues on forever!

Give thank to the Lord over all lords!

His tender love for us continues on forever!

Give thanks to the only miracle working God!

His tender love for us continues on forever!

Give thanks to the Creator who made the heavens with wisdom!

His tender love for us continues on forever!

He's the God who chose us when we were nothing!

His tender love for us continues on forever!

He rescued us from the power of our enemies!

His tender love for us continues on forever!

He provide food for the hungry ned and animals!

His tender love for us continues on forever!

Give thanks to the great God of the heavens!

His tender love for us continues on forever!

    Psalm 136: 1-8 + 24-26 Passion Translation

  • Evig varer hans miskunn

Då eg i dag tidleg las Salme 136 oppdaga eg at i kvart av dei 26 versa seier forfattaren at evig varer Guds miskunn. Me finn denne påstanden mange plassar i Salmane.

    Evig varer hans miskunn.

Guds folk skal med stort frimod seia:

    Evig varer hans miskunn.

Alle Herrens tenarar skal ropa med glede:

    Evig varer hans miskunn.

Alle som fryktar Herren skal seia:

    Evig varer hans miskunn.

Han er Gud over alle gudar,

    Evig varer hans miskunn.

Han er Herre over alle herrar,

    Evig varer hans miskunn.

    Han åleine gjer store under,

    Evig varer hans miskunn.

    Han skapte himmel og jord,

    Evig varer hans miskunn.

Han skapte menneske i sitt eige bilete,

    Evig varer hans miskunn.

    Han skapte oss til fellesskap,

    Evig varer hans miskunn.

Han valde meg ut før eg vart fødd,

    Evig varer hans miskunn.

    Evig varer hans miskunn.

    Evig varer hans miskunn.

Han skreiv dagane mine opp i si bok

    Evig varer hans miskunn.

    Evig varer hans miskunn.
