To be somebody
Is to suffer loss with dignity and trust
– the loss of a son who dies
– the loss of friends who turn out to be no friends
– the loss of sleep or rest
– the loss of memory
– the loss of peace of mind
– the loss of a poem as the pc crash
To be somebody
Is to embrace loss willingly by faith
Because you are looking forward
For something greater and better
When you have seen the Invisible
The losses in the corruptible world do not matter any more

• Bønn har gjeve blinde syn og døve hørsel.
• Både små og store under kan førast tilbake til bønn.
• Bønn har ført til vekking og frelse for tallause mengder menneske.
• Heile folkeslag er vunne for trua på Jesus som svar på bønn.
• Heile byar og bygder har vorte forvandla på grunn av bønn.
Be dei største bønner du kan førestilla deg! Du kan aldri be så store bønner at Gud når han svarar ikkje vil ønska at du hadde bede om meir (Ef.3,20). Ikkje be om krykker til å støtta deg på. Be om venger så du kan fly til nye høgder!
Tomorrow the 14th of February, Valentine’s Day, Solveig will become 60 years young! Therefore the house is getting full of children and grandchildren coming home to celebrate Solveig – the best wife, mother and grandmother in the world.
As the grandchildren are playing and having fun and the children are sharing memories as well as trying to keep some secrets from their mother, the house is filled with laughter and with joyful noise.
There will be a great party on Saturday. Hopefully everything will work well. I have no skill in arranging parties. Solveig has that skill. But this time she has been made redundant. This time me and the children are arranging the party. Today I am almost panicking as there still is much to be done! Then the joyful noise of the grandchildren reminded me of the important fact that we are family and will have a lot of fun just being together irrespectively of the party arrangement is successful or not!
To be somebody
Is to be a servant
And not put myself at the centre to be served.
To be somebody
Is not to give orders and directions for others to follow
But to lay down my life in serving others
In whatever capacity that is needed.
Greatness in life is only found in serving
Only when I give my life away it finds significance.
The dignity of being somebody
Comes from forgetting about myself
And meeting the most menial needs of people around me
The deepest joy is found
In being a blessing to others
Tonight I have been preaching at a Lutheran House of Prayer at Askøy outside Bergen. I had been invited a while ago by their minister. I mixed up the time of the meeting and arrived half an hour too late! But I was immediately forgiven!
The Lord had put on my heart to share with them some insight from the prophet Zechariah. The Spirit was present in a wonderful way and the people were drinking the words on my lips. The message seemed to be very well received. I felt alive and blessed as I shared the word of God with these precious saints.
When I was finished the leader was moved as he told that he had read the same scriptures just before he came to the meeting. It was a mighty confirmation to him that I came and prophetically explained the words he had been reading himself.
Rune Sjøblom came with me to the meeting and he got an interpretation to a message given in tongues. He was a real blessing to the people!
God is so good!
To be somebody
Is to dare to be yourself
And still not rely on your own strength or human resources
But submit to the leading of the Spirit
And draw on his mighty strength
Allowing him to unfold his power in your life
Enabling you to break out of all human limitations
And enjoy the abundance of blessings
And the liberty of God's children
To be somebody
Is to accept yourself the way you are
And trust God for a supernatural life in the Spirit
When you have learned to say no to yourself
– say no to your own strengths and weaknesses
But to embrace everything that God does for you
Then you can live life to the full.
To be somebody
Is to accept no limitations as failures
But as divine steppingstones
Into the life of the Spirit
– the life of trust
– the life of faith
– the life of hope
– the life of love
To be somebody
Is to allow words of encouragement
To become wings of faith
Making you ignore limitations
Causing you to jump over walls
Motivating you to cross borders
To be somebody
Is to believe and receive words
Appreciation from unknown people
Praise from close friends
As seeds of greatness
Producing desires to serve
In greater variety and measures
To be somebody
Is to fly with the wings of encouragements
To new horizons of joy
In being connected to a new reality
Having your life enlarged
Being enabled to break out
Of geographical and cultural limitations
To explore the limitless sky
As prophetic words are coming true
In walking humbly with your God
For nokre dagar sidan fekk eg The Friday Fax newsletter med henvisning til nokre sider som har over 20 millionar treff på kort tid. Eg gjekk til Moments With God og klikka på Interviews with God og klikka vidare på Norwegian. Då fekk eg meg ei verkeleg god overrasking. Det kom opp flotte bilete med ein fin tekst på nynorsk! Det likte eg! Intervjuet er vel verdt å lesa!
Today I have had a refreshing visit of one of my good friends, Roger Aubrey, the pricipal of The School of the Word, in Cardiff. It is always such a joy to be with my friend. He is provoking me to love and good deeds and stirring my spirit. It is refreshing just to be in his presence. He is always asking good questions and we always look to the word of God for answers.
Roger is a true friend. I thank God for giving me such a godly man as my friend. God is so good!
På ny bles Gud nytt liv inn mellom oss i ei grunnleggjande fase med utviding slik han har gjort mange gongar før. Gjennom undervisninga om grunnvollen for kristenlivet, om det å kjenna Kristus, har openberring og ny forståing kome til mange av oss. No kjem Den Heilage Ande for å føra oss vidare så det som vert bygd på grunnvollen kan verta ståande.
Jesus sa at det berre er ved ein ny fødsel ved Den Heilage Ande at vi kjem inn i Guds rike. Den som er født av Anden vil vera leia og ført av Anden som bles som ein vind i verda. Vinden er svært følbar og har synlege verknader, men vi veit lite av kor han kjem frå eller fer av. Dei ulike årstidene er også kjenneteikna av ulike slags vindar. Når vi har ei åndeleg forståing av tida vi lever i, vil vi lettare kunna forstå korleis Andens vind bles og kva han gjer i denne tida.
I 1.Kong.19,9-18 fortel Bibelen oss om den brennhuga profeten som var harm på Herrens vegne over synda og gudløysa i samfunnet han levde i. Då kalla Herren han til å koma og stå for hans åsyn, i hans nærvær, for det var noko han ville visa han. Medan han stod på fjellet for Herrens åsyn, kom det ein sterk storm som knuste knausar, men Herren var ikkje i stormen. Etter på kom det eit stort jordskjelv, men Herren var ikkje i jordskjelvet. Så kom det ein sterk fortærande eld, men Herren var ikkje i elden heller.
Profeten var harm og oppøst i si ånd, men det var ikkje på den måten Herren ville koma til folket. Det var mange ting i samfunnet å verta harm over, men Herren ville i sin nåde koma på ein annan måte for å gjera sitt verk. Han kom som ein mild og linn vind som kjærleg strauk over profeten og stilna harmen hans. Herren kom ikkje i bulder og brak, men i ein stille sus av Andens vind.
Vi treng å læra at Herren gjer kva han vil, når han vil på sin måte! I desse dagar bles Anden forfriskande krusedullvind som skapar glede og modnar hausten. I desse dagar bles Anden med sin milde og linne sus av sitt nærvær mellom oss. Det er ei tid med nåde, tilgjeving, frigjering, gjenreising og lækjedom på mange område.
Anden vil gjera oss milde og vennlege så vi kan tala ord med lækjedom og lindring i. Når vi gleder oss i Den Heilage Ande og gjer det han vil, vil vi frigjera liv og glede i andre som vil opna seg opp og dela av det gode Gud gjer i deira liv.
