  • A season of miracles

As we are celebrating Christmas I feel the Lord impressing on me that we are entering a season of miracle in the year of the Lord’s favour. In this season we need to give heed to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Fresh anointing will be released from the throne of God. We will be taken to new levels of faith and expectations. The power of God will be manifest in visible ways, but it will also work in secrets ways, like the yeast doing its work inside the dough.  We will see instant healings as well as people being gradually healed. But the power of God will not be limited to healings only, we will see his power a work in many areas and in great variety.

  • Let it be with me just as you say!

I have been encouraged and challenged by the response Mary gave to the angel Gabriel when he had spoken of impossible things to take place in her life. She willingly responded: "I am the Lord’s servant, ready to serve, May what you say take place with me!" The angel had just explained that nothing is ever ompossible to God, and that the Holy Spirt would come upon her and the power of the Most High would overshaddow her to bring to pass what the Lord had destined for her.

  • Believers feed on the Scripture

We must fight to let the Word of God be our authoritative direction in our actual day-by-day living. We need to realise that the Bible reveals God’s ways to us which are necessary and basic to our formation as human beings. The personal revelation that comes to us through the Bible is telling us what it means to live as human beings created in the image of the Triune God.

  • Be watchful!

I have been meditating on two verses in the first letter to the Corinthians lately. The apostle Paul is admonishing the believers to be watchful with these words: Be awake.  Be on guard. Stand firm in faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything with love. (1 Co 16:13-14).

I believe that these exhortations are very timely for us today. If we heed these words we will be able to serve the purpose of God in our generation.

  • Restoration – the focus of the Spirit

The Spirit is moving powerfully among those who believe in these days. The focus of the work of Spirit is restoration. Not in the old way of understanding of bringing something back to the original state, but in the new understanding of bringing the people of God to maturity and perfection. The Spirit is bringing refreshing to his people and is restoring faithfulness and covenant loyalty in the community of the Kingdom.

  • The dawn is heralding a new day

The dream is like the dawn of light in the morning heralding a new day. The new day has already arrived, but it is still only morning.  The new bright day of full light is coming! I dream of a new earth, a new world order, a new reality of reconciliation and peace. I dream of a new kingdom, a kingdom that is different from those subduing kingdoms ruling in the world today. This kingdom is near and is coming. Therefore my dream is both reality and longing for something more at the same time. I am trying to put words to the dream in words describing a real life lived in hope and vision of seeing it lived out in constant greater measure.

I dream, I long, I plead and pray. I work to realize the dreams given me by God in the assurance that all of God’s good dreams will be fulfilled in the right time.

  • Dream – vision – longing

Where I am using the word dream, others would rather speak of vision or longing. When I use the word dream, this word contains hope, vision and longing. My dream is something I have seen in the Spirit that God will do and which I have been created to be a part of. Therefore my dream is not a castle in the air, an imaginative picture, but the real future coming towards me. My dream is not an unrealistic imagination about a distant goal, but rather a description of something I have already tasted and experienced as a budding seed of growing reality. What I have seen opens my eyes to coming realities. I have experienced the reality in that which I am dreaming about. That is why I am dreaming of something more!

  • Dreaming God’s dream

I believe I am dreaming God’s dream for his holy family, his chosen people, a temple of living stones, an earth in harmony with heaven, of God dwelling among mankind. I am trying to describe God’s dream of a holy, blameless and beautiful bride for his Son. The Bride is by all Christian understood as a communion of grace, a fellowship of grace, consisting of men and women who have found mercy and forgiveness. When the bride is described as glorious and faultless is it only because of the work of God who is saving sinners, joining people together and fulfilling his work in them by his grace. More and more people will join this community of God’s people. We are created for this community. We all long for it, sometimes without knowing it, and we can all enter it by the grace of God.

  • White paper. All nuances.

As usually I met with the leaders of the church for prayer this Tuesday morning. We were having a good time in the presence of the Lord. Then a big truck passed by the round window towards the street on outside of our building. It was driving slowly enough for me to read the message written on the lorry. It was kind of a unusual sentence. Was it meant to be an advertisement or a slogan? The message was catching my attention because it seemed to convey a hidden message. On the white lorry it was written i big black letters these words: White paper. All nuances.

  • The dream-book par excellence

My father and mother took me to the meetings at the prayer-house from my early childhood. The prayer-house became my second home. Here I met a new and exciting world through the many visiting missionaries. They clothed themselves in colourful and strange costumes, showed slides and told of unbelievable things from the foreign lands where they had been. Then I started to dream of becoming a missionary travelling to distant countries with the good news of salvation and forgiveness. I read countless mission-books that nourished my dream of becoming a missionary preaching for those who had never heard the good news before.
