There is power in the spoken word

Sunday morning we had a wonderful gathering with the covenant community. Roger Aubrey was ministering the word at the worship service at Kristent Fellesskap in Bergen. I always enjoy listening to him. This Sunday he was most outstanding. His subject was the power of the spoken word. He quoted a lot of scripture verses and he made us all take part in his message in putting it into practice immediately. He taught us to:
1. Say thanks unto God in all circumstances (1.Thess.5:18)
2. Confess the word of God (1.Tim.6,12-16)
3. Speak to one self (Joh.18,37; Ps 42:5)
4. Speak to the mountain in front of us (Matt. 17:20)
5. Speak encouraging words to one another (Hebr.10:24)
6. Speak agreement with the words of faith (Matt.18:19-20)
7. Speak disagreement with the words of unbelief (Num.13:27-30)
8. Speak in tongues (Mark 16:17; 1. Cor. 14:18)

“A tree is identified by its fruit. Make a tree good, and its fruit will be good. Make a tree bad, and its fruit will be bad. You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. A good person produces good words from a good heart, and an evil person produces evil words from an evil heart. And I tell you this, that you must give an account on judgment day of every idle word you speak. The words you say now reflect your fate then; either you will be justified by them or you will be condemned.” (Matthew 12:33-37 NLT)

Thank you Erling for remembering all the points from my word on Sunday! Not only did you listen attentively, you spoke in such agreement with the word that my own faith was stirred to even higher heights. God is good!
