A big surprise

Yesterday
God gave us a big surprise in a small building. When we came to the Rotary Club
to meet with the covenant community we discovered that the big hall had been
taken over of some business people. Therefore we had to meet in a very small building.
Our first reaction was frustration and anger at the Rotary people for not
letting us know. Our second thought was that God was in control. That turned
out to be true!

As we
gathered in the building the people were filling the room from the edges,
leaving the entrance open to late comers. It was quite fascinating to see the
room being filled in that unusual way all by itself. All the leaders were
scattered in different places in the congregation. There seemed to be no human
control but a flowing together in the Spirit. Stephen started to sing in the
front while Sibby was playing the drums from the back. Ram Singh was
prophesying from the back, while Anil was prophesying and praying from the
side. Joseph was translating from the other side. So many people prophesied all
over the place. The whole gathering was spontaneously led by the Spirit.

For at
least one full hour we were listening to testimonies. The believers reported
all kinds of miracles and how God had been helping them in different ways. One
lady had led to pray for another lady that had been suffering for an illness
for 13 years. When the believer asked if she could pray for her, she said it
was pointless to do so since the gods she had approached for many years did not
heal her. The believer shared the good news about Jesus, prayed for the sick
lady and she was instantly healed and then she committed herself to Christ.

Another lady brought a boy that had been
unable to walk. He had been weak since birth. This lady started to pray for him
and the Lord healed him and strengthened him. Now he was able to walk by
himself. It was a great joy to see the boy standing in the midst of the
assembly as a living proof of the miracle power of God.

A man had
been driving his scooter very slowly while a motorbike in high speed ran into
him. While this accident took place the believer felt like big arms were
holding around him. He was even kept sitting on his scooter while the man on
the motorbike was seriously hurt. The believer was praising God for the
protection in the accident.

A lady had
been in debt. She was owing somebody 50000Rs. She was led to bring an offering
of 50Rs to the church. Soon after that all her debt was cleared and she gave
God the glory.

Another
lady had prayed for a childless couple which had been married for ten years
with no children. Shortly after prayer, the wife became pregnant, and now she
was soon due to give birth.

The entire
gathering was full of life. It was easy to bring the word of God to the people.
There is a prophetic anointing on this covenant community.
