Church_building
The new
theological seminary of the Methodist Church on Cuba was inaugurated during our
recent visit to Cuba. It was being hold in a massive building complex once
confiscated by the government after the revolution but recently given back to
the Methodist Church together with a permission to open a theological seminary.
This is the first seminary of this kind opened on Cuba since the revolution.

When the
building was confiscated after the revolution, all religious activities had to
come to an end and the Methodists had to leave the building.  However, a couple having a flat in the
building refused to move out. They believed that the government had no right to
the building that was dedicated to God as a church building with many
facilities for church activities and administration. Obviously there is a law
in Cuba prohibiting people to be cast out of a flat and put on the street.
Therefore they eventually were permitted to stay in the building where they are
still living in very high age. During all these years since the confiscation they
have been praying and claiming this building for God and the Methodist Church.
They are really heroes of faith! Today God has rewarded them and the building
is again being used as a church building and also hosting the new theological
seminary! I was not able to take their photo, but I post some photos from the
inauguration service.
