The word of God is powerful

During my visit to Cuba earlier this autumn my friend Keri kept saying to me; "Look at what the word of God can do! What you see is a result of the prophetic word spoken to us!" It was awesome to see the outcome of a prophetic word and the simple obedience to that word. The whole week during our stay in Cuba my friend kept reminding me of the power in the word of God. I was very much encouraged to see with my own eyes the fulfillment of the prophetic word.

I have just been to Sri Lanka and there again I was able to see the lasting power of the Word of God. By the grace of God and the goodwill of my fellow servants of God Solveig and I were able to go to Sri Lanka to visit some friends that we had not seen in thirteen years. We were excited about seeing our friends again after so many years and we wondered what their situation would be.
Solveig and I were both very blessed to see our friends again after such a long time. We were both amazed to see the power of the word of God in expressed in lasting fruits of transformed lives. Our friend George told me that the teaching I gave when we first met eighteen years ago still stuck with him. "The word covenant that you spoke really penetrated my heart. I have never been the same ever since. Covenant has become very foundational to my entire life. The teaching on covenant gave my life a new direction and it has become the back bone of my entire ministry." It is no wonder that he calls the word for "Covenant Life Ministry".

We met many old friends which we had not seen for thirteen years in Sri Lanka. I was amazed to discover that the word of God that we were able to leave with them still was producing fruit. The word of God is truly powerful. God is saying through the prophet Isaiah that his word will not return to him empty but create what he has sent it to perform. What a perspective on the ministry of the word! When we speak the word of God into a situation we may be confident that the Lord will watch over that word to perform it!
