One week ago I met with a serious car accident in India. My dear husband, Erling, and our dear friend Zephry have both told about the dramatic event when our taxi had a puncture and the driver lost controll, in Erlings blog. Therefore I will not repeat the story but rather express shortly what I experienced in the dramatic situation.
I had my eyes closed when the accident happened because I thought the driver was driving very fast, so I wanted to sleep. Perhaps 2-3 minutes after this I woke up by shaking, branches hitting the car and a terrible dump or crash. I felt an awful pressure with the seatbelt. I was lifted up and down, and I screamed out in terrible, intense pain from my back. When the car stood still I turned my head, praise God, my husband was alive, not hurt at all. Zephry had pain in his foot. The driver was unharmed as he used seat belt for the first time in his life.
My husband opened the door at my side and helped me lying down in the seat. I could move my feet. I was so grateful. While lying there in the very hot car, even with the doors opened, I was thanking God for so many reasons. Tears were running the back was in severe pain. But what was better to do than praise God? I felt that I had been given the life as a gift once again, and all the others in the car were saved. God certainly had sent angles to move the car away from a tree that could hit the car in the middle of the front.
Oh, how good God is! I had so many small details to thank him for. As my feet reached outside the car I was grateful that this day I had put socks on so my feet were not sunburned during the three hours we were waiting for assistance. We had enough water in the car. May mobile worked out there in the wilderness. God is interested in every details in our life.
Over and over again I am praising God. How lovely to hear the voice of children and grandchildren through the telephone. Getting greetings and prayers from family and friends in Norway and India. It is 5 days since it happened but I am thanking God laying in my bed at rest. I have plenty of time to give thanks and also to pray for other people.
God is good all the times at all circumstances. The enemy is trying to steal, rob and kill. But God is the strongest, – he is in control sending out his army, the angles, helping and protecting. All that is within me say: "Praise the Lord, I am alive, and I want to serve HIM many, many more years!
