  • Is there a meaning of life?

I have just established a new blog! You find it at Purpose of Life?

In the early seventies I wrote an evangelistic book on the purpose of life. The classic book for evangelism "The meaning of life" was first released in 1972. The book is translated and published in Swedish, Danish, German and Chinese, and is sold in more than 300 000 copies. Lately there has arrived several requests about releasing the book again. I have now finished an extended and updated version of the book that has been a blessing for thousands of people.

The text of the book will be used in the new blog which I hope will turn into an effective tool for evangelism!

  • Da Vinci Code

It has often been said that if people stop believing in God, they will not believe in nothing, they will believe anything. The Da Vinci Code book is an example. Brad Samuels has developed a website on the Code. He tells his story:

  • A prophetic chat

I am having the joy of communicating with a wonderful group of excellent young prophetic people. Yesterday we had our first prophetic chat through our new Internet School. We are using Moodle and are experimenting with this tremendous e-learing program. Per Filip was so excited that he left an entry on his blog a few minutes after we finished chatting!

  • Toilet poetry

I have been amazed by toilet poetry written on walls and doors in public toilets. Nowadays it is difficult to write on the walls in the toilets, but not always. When I was working at the oil-rig, Condeep, at Jåttåvågen, the toilets had rude poetry carved into the wooden walls. I visited a toilet in Måløy yesterday with an unusual poem.

  • More help are needed

We have already been able to send about 65.000 £ for the Tsunami victims in India. The work is progressing wonderfully. However we need nearly 50.000 £ more to finish the work. Especially I like to help some people of the Yanadi tribe with houses. This tribe is the poorest of the poor. Please read the moving report on their condition!

  • More pastors are praying

Awhile ago I wrote an entry on "Some pastors are still praying" after attending the weekly prayer meeting with the pastors of Bergen. I had been away and the numbers were down, but the faithful pastors were still praying. The good news is that there has been an encouraging development. More pastors are praying!

  • The Word is wonderful

The Word of God is wonderful! The Word that proceeds from his mouth is a life-giving word. The Word is one with God, and the Word is God. Being word is the very nature of God -an integral part of the Divine Being. He speaks all the time without intermission. He speaks continuously. The words that proceed from his mouth are full of life and power – for all those who find them (receive them). God is life, and life proceeds from him – through the words he speaks. God is the fountain of life. He is an ever flowing source of living water. His living words are drawing us to himself. The Word is drawing us into a personal relationship with him. The word of God finds its fullness in the Word – his own dear Son. He is light of his own light, life of his own life. May his life be fleshed out in me!

  • Language – a challenge

Language is a challenge to me. I am raised in Norway in the Stavanger area and speak the dialect of that region. At school I was taught the New Norwegian or Nynorsk which is quite different from the Book Language or Bokmål. The two offical forms of Norwegian are a cause of hot discussions and heated feelings.

  • Good news from India

I have just received a wonderful report from my friend Chandrakant Chavada in India. He has just finished a series of big meetings in the southern part of his state. I rejoice in what God is doing through his servant!

  • The vanguard of the participatory church

I have just finished an article on blogging for our Norwegian magazine FOLK. I have been blogging for three years now and still find it satisfying! I agree with Tim Brednar in E-church that the bloggers are the vanguard of the participatory church.
