Toilet poetry

I have been amazed by toilet poetry written on walls and doors in public toilets. Nowadays it is difficult to write on the walls in the toilets, but not always. When I was working at the oil-rig, Condeep, at Jåttåvågen, the toilets had rude poetry carved into the wooden walls. I visited a toilet in Måløy yesterday with an unusual poem.

This poem was hanging on the wall at the right hand side of the toilet. I had to read it several times before I wrote it down!

My identity in Christ

Because of Christ’s redemption,

I am a new creation of infinite worth

I am deeply loved

I am completely forgiven

I am fully pleasing

I am totally accepted by God

I am absolutely complete in Christ

When my performance reflects my new identity in Christ,

That reflection is dynamically unique

There has never been another person

Like me in the history of mankind

Nor will there ever be

God has made me an original

One of a kind, really somebody!

Wow! That was great! (I didn’t know that you worked a lot with writing on the walls of public toilets..hehe.. but I guess the prophetic voice needs to be heard clearly there as well as all other places.) This was an exciting post, Erling!

    Dear friend!
I’m sorry I made you look bad on my last comment. Of course I understood that you were not behind the wall writing… I was just fascinated by what you wrote on the difficulty of writing on toilet walls.
This is my final words on this, Erling: You are an example to me, a role model! You live a great life, and are always fresh and new in your spirit! I can’t blame you for any wrongdoing, at least not for writing on toilet walls.

    A good poem, certainly.
Borges said some marginally similar: “All the Universe happens to me, only to me”.
(Sorry if my English is bad, because my language is Spanish).
