Sheep’s heads party

Sheepparty Last night I had the honour of attending the annual Sheep’s heads party at Gullbotn together with 40 other real men.

Sheepper It is Per Kristing who is the man behind it and I don’t know how many times it has been arranged. There has never been so many attendants as this year. It is certainly growing bigger year by year even if some of the less brave men are no longer attending!

Sheephands A sheep head is delicious food for real men. We may even use our hands when eating in deep concentration! We eat everything we are able to chew or swallow. Only the bones are left on the plate when we are finished.

This time Per Kristing was using the opportunity to raise funds for an orphanage in India. He planned to raise 10.000.- kroner for that purpose through this excellent party food!

Sheepplate Sheepfinished These two last pictures are the proof that I did a good job in finishing!

I’ve been told for many years now about this challenge of men has been an tradition. I’m also happy to see that the traditional food from my hometown has got so big interest between other part of Norway as well. 🙂

Hi Erling – I thought it was just us strange Englishmen (Tripe) and Scotsmen (Haggis) who had weird eating habits! I’ll stick to brown cheese when I’m in Norway….and of course Solveig’s lovely cooking! Best regards – Tim
