While we have been driving in Bhutan and India the last few days I have been impressed by the wisdom messages displayed along the roads. The governments of these wonderful nations are really to be praised for their efforts to educate their people to drive carefully. Here are some of the messages I have noticed:

If you are married, divorce speed

Speeds thrills but kills

Arrive home in peace not in pieces

Alert avoids accidents

After whisky, driving risky

Drive, don’t fly!

Hurry makes worry

Peep, peep, don’t sleep

This is a highway not a runway

Haste makes waste

Always expect the un-expectable

Safety first speed next

Around the bend goes slow friend

Enjoy the beauty of life, drive slowly for a long life

Three enemies in the road: liquors, speed and overload

Speed an safety never met

Driving faster can cause disaster

Speed is a knife that cuts

Make safety a habit

Anytime is safety-time

Always alert accidents averts

Don’t gossip, let him drive

Drive skilfully, drive funfully

Better be safe than sorry

Life is too short don’t make it shorter

Don’t fly but ply

Eager to last then why fast?

Drink and drive you won’t survive.

Save roads save life

If you sleep your family will weep

Don’t mix drive and drink

Safety – make it a habit

Time is money – life is precious

Nature has everything to meet man’s need but not his greed
