In Uttarey in Sikkim we met a young girl at 18 years. She was such a sweet and smiling young lady with a very high spirit in her. She came with us in the car the last part of the journey before we reached our destination. Her testimony was astounding and touched us all!

She came to know Jesus Christ at the age of 13. She lived in the town with her father at that time and the father was very unhappy with her becoming a believer in Jesus Christ. He tried so many ways to get her give up her faith in Christ but she was persistent in her walk with the Lord. Finally the father said that she had to leave Jesus or leave him! Her simple answer was that she could never leave Jesus for he has so dear to her. As a result she had to leave her father and go back to the remote village to stay with her mother.

After sometime the mother and all her sisters came to trust in Jesus Christ because of her love for him. Eventually even her father received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour. The young girl was radiant when she exclaimed: Now my father loves me more than anything else! He loves me so much because he also has become a believer!

She gave up everything to follow Christ and didn’t loose anything. In fact she gained everything by following the Lord Jesus Christ, just as he promised all those who give up everything to follow him!
