Yesterday Solveig and I had the joy of meeting with a young and emerging church in a crowded living room at Stord. We met the the spacious and beautiful home of Astrid Elin and Jan Sigve Hystad who is leading the growing group of people. The view from their living room is just spectacular and so are the people!

About 40 people from a great variety of backgrounds and age had come together to celebrate the saving love of God. They were full of joy and thankfulness. Several of them had never been to anything like this before but they seemed to cope very well with the warm atmosphere and nontraditional style of worship led by a young student girl. But off cause before that we had enjoyed vegetarian snacks!

I had the privilege of sharing with them about what kind of church or community God is looking for. Jesus said that he will build his church! We just want to be part of what he is doing. We just want to do things God’s way and not to be bound by our religious traditions.

While I was with them I could see in the Spirit a wonderful multiplication taking place on this island and all the surrounding islands and even the mainland. The Spirit of God is moving gently and powerfully in this area. Many people will be born into the Kingdom of God. New groups of believers meeting in close-knitted fellowships in homes will spring up everywhere. They will form a light giving network of believers committed to one another and working together with the fivefold ministry gifts of the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ!
