I have just read an exciting email from Rebekah from India. I was so touched and blessed by the good news she is telling that I had to share it. We need to continue to pray for Rebekah and all the believers in India as this is a time of spiritual visitation for that great nation! This story will lead to many new stories of people having their prayer answered and who are being dramatically changed by coming to know Jesus Christ, the Lord and Saviour of the world!

Let me begin at the beginning 😉

The week before last, I was really busy with a tight stretched schedule, so many things needed to be done with so little time, one stressed out girl. Praise God, he uses us when least expected.

I was driving to Vaishali, about 8:30 pm. Don’t know what stopped me, but I just did.

I really don’t give or take lifts, just don’t feel its safe. There was this Rajput lady waiting for a bus, she asked me for  a lift, in a totally opposite direction from where I was going, I decided to drop her off half way, once on the motor bike she started to tell me about her kids who were at home waiting for her and how she would be late if she didn’t get a bus. So I thought I’d just drop her home since it probably wasn’t very far – what a hope! It was really far away almost 8 to 10 kilometers from where I was going and in a small village, really rural, I said, “Lord what exactly am I doing in this remote place so late at night”

The roads were awful, like riding a camel, more of a rocky dirt track with only my headlight to show the way ahead. “This had better be from You Lord”. We reach her small house, she insists I come in for a cup of tea, its getting late and all hopes of rushing back to get all the items on my list done are disappearing fast. A tiny little room with a tinier kitchen attached and a “outhouse “ outside . She lives there with her two sons. Her sons are Mahender an 8year old and Virender only a year and a half, one daughter a six yearold lives with her mother in another part of the city. With that cuppa she shared her hearts troubles, she had been to her in-laws house that day, trying to get some information about her husband. More than a year ago he just abandoned her and the kids one day and they hadn’t heard from him since. She now had to work outside her home to put food on the table. Her 8year old isn’t sent to school since he must stay home to look after the 1 yr old while mum was away working. She had no gas cylinder and had to use a kerosene stove to do her cooking, becoz she wasn’t able to find the time to go apply for one during the day time. At her ropes end she was really desperate.

There was a small altar with pictures of hindu idols on it, I asked her if she prayed to them and if it did any good, she did pray but they didn’t answer her or bring her any relief.

I just felt that I should tell her about Jesus, which I did and I prayed for her and gave her my address and phone no. before I left. I came home excited, no longer tired and the list completely forgotten. Asked my family and close friends to pray for her family.

Sunday she came home, very excited, her husband had called the day before, he wanted  to come back. After more that a year she heard from him !!!!

Praise God. Isnt He just wonderful. What an awesome Dad J

She and her brother visited with her kids, we were able to tell them more about Christ.

It was amazing they were so open, “your God sure listens to your prayers”

She wasn’t able to come to church, she had to work Sunday, which is when she normally she has an off. But I just got a call from her, she is doing fine her husband called again and wants her to send a letter calling him home so that his boss will pay him his dues and let him leave. She wanted me to pray for this and also for her brother so that he would be able to get married and find a good job. I spoke to him too, he was so open and receptive and so trusting, he told me he didn’t know how to pray, I told him just to talk to Jesus like he would to a friend, and He would listen and answer.

I am so excited and feel so blessed that I listened to God when I did and that He would use me so.
