I am back home after a wonderful and exciting time in Ethiopia. We have seen the grace of God at work among his people. Something very good is going on in this special nation that has had the gospel for nearly 2000 years. It is fascinating to think that the good new of Jesus Christ came to Ethiopia nearly one thousand years before it reached Norway.
The historic Coptic denomination or the Orthodox as they seemed to be called by the full gospel believers in Ethiopia has put its mark on the people. The people we met in the different areas of the City of Addis Ababa seemed to be kind, friendly and reliable. I was very pleased to meet people from different walk of life and find them all to be kind.
In Norway we have heard about the Mekane Jesus Church which has seen revival and a large in gathering of souls over many decades. The main pentecostal denomination seemed to be the Full Gospel Believers Church. The people we visited came from that background. Many of the Christian leaders and members of the churches have gone through a lot of difficulties and persecution during the communistic reign some years ago. Today the situation is better.
We were challenged and blessed by the commitment to prayer among the believers. It seemed to be normal to spend several hours every day in prayer. No wonder that healings and miracles happened every week and was a normal part of their walk with God.
