Disconnected – connected

I have had some problems getting connected to Internet recently. I don’t like the feeling of being disconnected to the world wide web of friends and information. I dislike even more to be disconnected in any ways to my friends, no matter the reason. But to be cut off from the intimate friendship of God must be the most terrible thing that can happen to any human being.

Today I have been connected – in many meanings of the word. I have met with God and with friends. I have been receiving emails and I have been sending some emails. I have had time with friends, at a big Christmas lunch at the church building, and at an early prayer meeting with servants of God. I have even had time to write many Christmas cards and to visit some blogs.

One of those I visited was Per Filip Osland who has developed his blog in a wonderful way. He has given it a new content and a new name. He is now focusing on church planting and sharing insight from his everyday life as a pioneer of a new work in Åsane in Bergen. I was very blessed by reading his blog today and I noticed that a lot of people leaves comments on his entries. His blog seems to have come alive in a new way and I rejoice in being able to be connected to his world of thought.

Disconnected from Jesus we are totally lost. Disconnected from the Holy Spirit we are left with no life and no fruitfulness. Disconnected from friends we are lonely and barren. Connected to God through Jesus Christ we are able to connect to his world in a new way. Connected to brothers and sisters in the covenant community we are being enlarged and liberated to serve in unlimited ways.

The Spirit of God is being poured out on all people in these days. The Spirit is moving in many powerful streams of prophetic refreshing movements among the people of God. Only through spending time with God in prayer and meditation I am able to be connected to some of the movings of the Spirit in this time. There is no substitute of spending time with God. In fact this is the best use of our time ever! When we spend time with God the time is not spent and gone as normal, but time is actually gained, because being with the Eternal I AM we are given wisdom, insight and new energy to bring forth fruit that we otherwise could have labored hard to produce with no success even after enduring a long time of hard work.
