Yesterday we had a good time as the covenant community gathered to worship our Lord and fellowship together. There was a real sense of the presence of God among us. The assembly was alive in the Holy Spirit.

I had the privilege of sharing the word of God with my brother and sisters. God had laid on my heart to share about Jesus – the friend people. To me, one the highest title of honour given to Jesus is the mocking words of his religious adversaries: Friend of traitors and sinners!

I love these words because they include me among those kind of people he calls his friends. Jesus is the true friend of humanity. He is the true friend of men and women, – even of the worst kind.

The Incarnation is a great mystery. God becoming man. Without compromising his holiness he became one of us, – a friend of sinners. John says: We saw his glory, – he was full of grace. I have also seen his glory in his abundant grace towards me and my fellow disciples. I have seen grace upon grace as he has never given up on me.

I have seldom had so many positive feedbacks as I had after what I shared yesterday. Obviously many people we blessed by this simple but deep truth about Jesus – the friend who loves and understands us and who gave his life for us.

Jesus is himself the good news to people.
