The elders’ conference at All Nations Church in Cardiff Wales was a wonderful success. It heralded a new season of the Spirit for many of the delegates and the covenant communities they represented. The Lord manifested his presence among us in a very real way through the ministry of the Word and through the laying on of hands.

Our beloved apostle Keri Jones ministered powerfully to us. He was focusing on living in the anointing, receiving new fresh anointing and giving the anointing to new generations or people to be our successors to take the work of God further than we have been able to do. He was talking of Elijah and how Elisha was raised up to become his successor, to be the prophet of the Lord after him. Eventually Elisha asked for and received a double portion of the Spirit resting on Elijah. The tragedy was that Elisha didn’t have anybody to take a double portion of his anointing to carry on the prophetic ministry when he died.
Keri boldly proclaimed that this is a season of refreshing of the Spirit. It is a season of evangelizing in the power of the Holy Spirit. It is a season to take a new anointing from the Lord to function in the supernatural. It is a season of miracles! It is a new season of the Spirit!
The wife of a Cuban apostle also ministered powerfully to us. She was a medical doctor by profession but had seen some great miracles take place as she had been praying for people. Her husband had not been given a visa so he could not come with her. But eventually he got his passport and arrived as an aswer to prayer early in the morning at 0330. He arrived in London with no address or telephone number. But because of the goodness of God he was able to find the hotel where his wife was staying in Wales.
When the Cuban apostle came to minister to us, he was a demonstration of what Keri had shared with us earlier. It was obvious that this man knew the Lord. He was a man of the Spirit. He had paid a high price for this ministry in fasting and seeking the Lord, but also by being persecuted and put to jail for the sake of Christ. He only had two months left to fullfill his education as a medical doctor when he was told that since he believed in God he could not have a licence as a doctor. When the communists took over Cuba there was only 80 Assamblies of God churces. Because of the revival that has been going on the last twenty years there are now about 5000 churches! In spite of opposition they have been multiplying. It is the result of the move of the Holy Spirit in that nation.
The Cuban apostle was speaking to us about fasting which he defined as praying without words. He made a point that fasting can stand alone, as fasting itself is a powerful spiritual weapon. He gave some very good teaching on fasting using stories from his own life to illustrate his points. He told us that according to the Bible there are two kinds of fasts.The first one is the natural fast when we do not eat any food but drink water only. The other fast is the total fast when we do not eat or drink at all. He showed us several examples from the Bible that the total fast normally only lasts for three days. If we go much longer without drinking the kidneys will collaps.
He told us of some outstanding miracles. This is the one that impressed me most. While his son was studying to become a medical doctor, he testified about the power of God to a communist professor. She got tired of his testimony and challenged him by saying: «If this God of yours is so powerful, perhaps he can do something for my aunt?» «What is wrong with her», he asked. Then she told him that his aunt had been suffering from terrible headache for many years. Then she started to have epileptic attacks. It got worse and worse with her and she became blind, deaf, dumb and lame. She was now totally paralyzed and helpless. All the medical experts had given up doing anything more for her and they could not even explain what had happened to her. The son said: «God will heal her. Talk to my father and bring her to him!»
She made contact with the father and explained the conditions of her aunt to him. He agreed to pray for her, saying: «As soon as I have three days free I will go on a three days total fast to be able to cast out the demons causing this trouble for your aunt. I will call you when I start fasting and praying and then I want you to bring your aunt to me the third day.»
When he found three days he could set aside for a total fast to pray for this epileptic, blind, deaf, dumb and paralyzed lady to be delivered he told the communist professor that in three days she was to bring her aunt. In his fast he did spiritual warfare against the demons that had caused all these problems for this lady.
After three days someone was ringing the door bell and he expected the ambulanse and a lady in a wheel chair. But at the door the communist professor was standing with a another young lady. «Didn’t I tell you to bring your aunt,» he asked her. «I did. Here she is standing at my side completely well,» she answered. Startled the apostle asked for an explanation and the professor told a remarkable story.
On the second day of fasting the paralyzed lady suddenly was able to move her fingers. Then she could move her arms. She was able to make sounds and the whole family gathered to watch a miracle take place in front of their very eyes. Little be bittle health returned to this lady. She was able to speak, to hear, to see and also eventually leave the wheel chair and walk normally!She had no more epileptic attacks. She was no longer blind, deaf, dumb or paralyzed! Many miracles had taken place! She was totally delivered. She was totally healed!
The apostle rejoiced in what had taken place and at once he challenged the communist professor and her aunt to commit themselves to the Lord Jesus Christ. They both received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour!
I am excited to live in a time like ours when the Spirit of God is moving powerfully in the earth. I am looking forward to see more outstanding miracles take place as we – the people of God – are led by the Spirit and live in a fresh anointing.
