Just a few weeks ago
Ramesh from Rajasthan told me this story: In my village there was a
lady who worshipped evil spirits. She became very ill and suffered
great pain. She went to ask many idols for healing, but nothing
happened, even though she brought big sacrifices. The witchcraft
doctor could not help her even though she followed all his advices.
No one was able to help her and after three months of terrible
sufferings she fell unconscious and subsequently died.

Her neighbour, who
was a Hindu, had been given the Gospel message by Ramesh. Therefore
he sent for Ramesh to come and pray for this lady, who was now dead as far as they could tell. When Ramesh came he tried to take the pulse and
came to the same conclusion as them, that the lady was dead. “She
is dead!” he said, “What can I do?” Then the neighbour told
him: “You have been bragging about this Jesus, that he is able to
raise the dead. Now, you show us what he can do!”

Ramesh could not
escape the challenge, but responded by putting his faith in the
Living God. Immediately he started to pray. He prayed a long prayer,
but nothing happened. However, he refused to give up. He prayed once
more. After the second prayer the dead lady started to breath. Then
he prayed the third time, and the lady stood to her feet completely
healed and fully alive!

Ramesh shared the
Good News of the Kingdom of God with her and she responded by
repenting from her sins and believed in Jesus Christ and was
baptised. The neighbour, who called for Ramesh, also came to Christ
that night together with his whole family and they have all been
baptised.
