The
prophetic ministry is totally dependent on the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit brings detailed knowledge of and insight into
God’s purpose. This
follows naturally from the fact that only the Holy Spirit of God has the full
and detailed plan in view and can make everything true in principle to the
intention of God. When we study the Scripture we discover the wonderful thing
that when we go back to the simplest, earliest, the most elementary expression
of divine things in the word of God, everything there is true in principle to
all that follows later in greater fullness. God has kept everything true to
principle: however fully a thing is developed the principle is there and we
cannot get away from that. The more developed teaching of the New Testament is
always true to the original principle of that matter as it was first
introduced. The superstructure of the New Testament is in every way of
principle true to the foundation of the Old Testament. God is still working
according to his original purpose!

The
prophetic ministry is a ministry of revelation to bring enlightenment and
knowledge. Under the anointing of God the prophetic ministry brings everything
back to that position of absolute safety and security because it is true to the
word of God. The anointing brings us in touch with divine principles, the laws
of life, enabling us to go beyond the letter of the Law and live above the
external technique and methods of man.

We are
totally dependent of the anointing because only the Spirit of God is acquainted
with all the thought of God. Only the Holy Spirit can speak and work and bring
things about in true and full consistency with the divine principles which
govern all things. Everything that is from God will embody those principles. That
which governs the church is that it is a spiritual reality, it is not a human
or earthly entity, it is a spiritual entity related to Christ as in heaven.

In Christ
we are blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms. Before God made the world he loved us and chose
us in Christ to be holy and without fault. His unchanging plan has always been
to bring us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ.
We used to be dead because of our sins but God gave us life when he raised
Christ from the dead. God raised us from the dead along with Christ, and seated
us with him in the heavenly realms, all because we are one with Christ.

Only by the
knowledge of the Spirit we come to appreciate that we, as the church, are the
body of Christ. As the body of Christ the church is filled by Christ, who from
his place on the heavenly throne fills everything everywhere with his presence.
God’s secret plan is centred on Christ. At the right time God will bring
everything together under the authority of Christ, everything in heaven and on
earth. Every local church is a heavenly colony in that locality to bring heaven
to earth and bring people into the Kingdom of God. Every local church has a
prophetic calling to express the reality of heaven and the Lordship of Christ
in the neighbourhood to fill it with an awareness of the glory of God. This
knowledge of God can only come by the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
