In the book of Acts Paul is speaking about the Jews (13:27) who had the word of prophets read to them every Sabbath, but who didn’t hear the voice of the prophets. They were hearing without hearing. The word was read to them, but they didn’t hear God speaking to them through the word of the prophets. They didn’t hear the voice of the prophets. Because they didn’t hear the voice of the prophets they actually fulfilled their words in a negative way.

The Spirit of God is moving in wonderful ways, all over the world, in these days in which we are living. God is restoring his people as a prophetic people. All the ministry gift of the ascended Christ is being restored to equip the believers to do the work of ministry that the body of Christ may come to maturity. I the present move of the Spirit God is taking his people to a new level of spiritual understanding and practical living of the supernatural life of the covenant community of God.
The way forward for the people of God is always to listen to the voice of the prophets. God doesn’t do anything before he has revealed his plan for his servants, the prophets. Every new phase in the work of God is introduced by the voice of the prophets. The prophetic word of God is creative, dynamic and for ever powerful to bring us into the realities of God.
