Hurricane season in Cuba

I have just arrived back home in Norway after one wonderful week in Cuba. We have be seeing what God is doing in the beautiful island from the west to the east. When we arrived the hurricane Gustav had just past over the western part of the island. I was not a beautiful sight to see the devastation caused by the hurricane. In one city it seemed like all houses had their roofs damaged or totally removed. Many hoses had completely collapsed. The bold people were trying to clear up and use whatever they could to try to repair their houses even though many of them were beyond repair!

The day we left a new hurricane, Ike, was hitting Cuba from the east. We left before it reached us. In between we had another hurricane, Hannah, that passed by. We were told that it had never happened before with two big hurricanes like this hitting the island in one week. The god thing is that the government is very clever in evacuating masses of people so that very few people are killed in Cuba when a hurricane strikes the island.
But we observed another hurricane over Cuba, a powerful moving of the Holy Spirit. The wind of the Spirit is not bringing devastation but hope and restoration to the people. We met many growing and lively churches, Holy Spirit churches within the framework of the Methodist Church in Cuba. The bishop was truly a man of the Spirit and he had fostered a new generation of ministers on fire for God. I was greatly blessed by being with these wonderful servants of God.

I was praying and thinking about your staying at Cuba. Even when you, the leaders and the inhabitant Christians were experiance hurricanes, you were annoited and protected by The Holy Ghost hurricane over the island.
