Moses is the greatest prophet of the Old Testament and the Jewish religion, but he cannot be compared with Jesus and his new covenant. Moses gave the people the Law written on tablets of stones. Jesus writes the law of love and freedom in the hearts of those who believe in him. Moses brought the people out of Egypt. Jesus takes Egypt out of people. Moses took the people to the promised land. Jesus puts the promised land into every believer.

The ministry of the Law brings death. The letter kills, but the Spirit of the Lord gives life. The ministry of the Law brings condemnation, but the ministry of Jesus brings righteousness. Moses had a transitory glory, Jesus gives us part in a lasting glory!
I praise God who has made us competent ministers of the new covenant. We are letters from Jesus Christ. The message of love, grace and new life – the message of salvation – the message of the liberating power of the Kingdom of God – has been written or rather engraved in our hearts by the living Spirit of God.

As we focus on Jesus Christ and his glorious work the Holy Spirit is transforming us into his image with ever increasing glory. This lasting and increasing glory comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit, and who lives inside us ever since he regenerated us and recreated us as sons of God. The new creation has come to all those who are in Jesus Christ. He created a brand new humanity. The old has gone, the new is here.

Jesus is able to do immeasurable more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us! The dynamic energy of Jesus Christ is powerfully at work in us who believe in him.
