An angel woke me up last night in a dream with her indignant voice saying: “Why are you writing poems on sheets of silver? Don’t you know they are to be engraved on tablets of gold that will last and be seen by many!” Then the angel disappeared and left me – bewildered. I wondered what the exact meaning could be.
I am still wondering as I sense a stirring in my spirit. I feel there is a secret hidden in these words of contrasts. Silver and gold are both costly metals but gold being the most valuable. We write on sheets but we engrave on tablets – one is on the surface and one goes deeper into the matter.
Could the meaning be that I need to change my medium? Do I need to shift from the thin “sheet” of the virtual world to the realm of heavy books? Or do I need to make costly posters of my poems? Or do I need to change focus from writing to engraving? Or…….?
I certainly need to ponder and meditate on this strange nightly encounter. In the meantime I think I will continue to post new poems on my poetic blog – I am somebody! Perhaps this may spark a new poem?

This dream is very interesting. I have been contemplating it for a week or so, and have some knowledge to offer, but some other part of the Body of Christ must have the wisdom to interpret the whole thing. It is good that we are a body.
In Scripture, silver (generally) symbolizes the price of a soul. Some references (among many) that help us see this are Exodus 30:11-16 and Matt.27:3-9. When gold is used symbolically, on the other hand, it often refers to kings, rulers, those in governmental authority.
Daniel 3:1, Rev.14:14, etc.
There are symbols in the dream with which I am not familiar. Poetry, engraving versus writing, etc.
So, I wonder. Maybe your ministry will change toward a more in-depth discipling of leaders, either in the Church, or in government? It would be very helpful and interesting to hear from others on this matter and to hold it quietly before the Lord, seeking His wisdom. -

I’ve been thinking about this dream ever since you posted it almost a month ago. Could the ‘tablets of gold’ be people?
A phrase said by a man of God: ‘The name of the game is people’ constantly rings in my head when I think about this encounter with the indignant angel. God always invests in people. After all this is a more lasting investment than many other things since humans are eternal creatures. Paul also mentions tablets in 2 Cor 3,3 when he says: ‘You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.’ (NIV)
So, I’ve probably only summed up what is obvious. The real application of the dream in your everyday life remains unresolved. I can only guess that maybe you ought to learn other people to creatively express their everyday walk with God in a poetic way. -
