We are having a wonderful time with the wonderful people of the Jaipur Covenant Community. They are really special people. During the years they have become our close friends. We can see the glory of God among them. The grace of God is evident in this community.

Jaipur itself is a very special town with nearly four million inhabitants. At the centre we find the walled city called “The Pink City”. All the houses have the same terracotta pink colour and we find some very nice architecture, like the Hawa Mahal building. The Bazars of Jaipur is my favourite place of shopping. I like the smell and the noise and all the colours on display.
But more than anything the people of God in Jaipur is a very colourful community with so many special personalities. Pushpa and Ramsingh are a lovely couple that we met many years ago. They are always smiling and bringing encouraging words, giving us a warm hug and praising God. No wonder that they constantly bring new people into the covenant community. Their love and care are so attractive!
Then we have Madhu and Rajinder, a younger couple that lost three children before they found a new life among the covenant community. Madhu used to be illiterate, but she desperately wanted to read the Bible! By a miracle she was able to read the Bible instantly after prayer, but she couldn’t read anything else! Now they have two beautiful children. They are so zealous for the Lord. They are fully committed to spread the good news of the Kingdom of God, even though it causes them many problems as some ungodly people don’t like that they help people to get free from the suppression of the cast-system. Sunday Rajinder gave a wonderful testimony of how God had intervened and healed the youngest boy miraculously as the doctors could not help him! When I looked at him giving the testimony, he was radiant as he gave glory to God. Even though they are both far too thin, they are so beautiful and their joy is irresistible!
Mahesh is like a son to us. When we first met him, he was new in the covenant community! We told him that God loved him and he started to weep. He had never heard anybody telling him that they loved him before that moment! From that time he has been like a son to us. We have watched him grow in the Lord. Now he is married to Renuka and they have been blessed with two wonderful children, Abisheh and Prianka. Last year Mahesh and Renuka were instrumental in bringing many people to Christ and starting three new fellowships!
The covenant community consists of more than 300 people from a wide variety of backgrounds. It stated with one family, now there are many families!
