Today I have together with some leaders in the church attended a course in strategic planning. It has been a very good time together in learning to become more effective in seeing our visions and intentions becoming realities.

Life planning involves much more than time management or efficient leadership skills. It is about understanding our divine calling and being able to give a mission statement. It is about knowing our history, our identity and our future.

We have four roles to play in imitating God. Being an creative person, being a serving person, being a governing person, and being a friendly person. Key words are initiating, forming, establishing, and exercising.

We need to be excited about ourselves, the service we offer, the people we serve, and the usefulness of our service for the people.
