We arrived in New Dehli at 0115 after midnight. It took us some time to get our luggage and then reach the domestic airport where we had to wait for our flight for Jaipur with Jet Airways at 0545 in the morning. When we arrived in Jaipur to be welcomed by our dear friend Zephry we were quit sleepy and tired, but very happy to be back in India and to be with our friend.
Now we have had some rest and food and are ready for an exiting time in the Pink City of Jaipur. We love this place and even more we love the people here. Jaipur is like our second home. The covenant community in this city is like our own family. Here we have many friends and brothers and sisters! Today is a day of rest as our friends Brenda and Zephry will spend time with us and hopefully help us with some Christmas shopping.
India is facing many challenges at this time. It is election time in several states. The central government is facing many separatist movements and even terrorist groups of different kinds from left wing Maoist groups to right wing Hindu extremists. Like any other nation the current financial crisis in the world is also a big challenge for India. Violence is increasing in many places. In Orissa the situation is still very tense even though it has calmed down a little bit.
But the good news is that the Kingdom of God is advancing in this great nation of India. In Jaipur more than 40 Muslims have come to Christ and joined the covenant community of God. From every place in India we are hearing good reports on the progress of the good news in spite of persecution and many hardships.
We are so grateful to God and our covenant friends at home who have made it possible for us to travel to India to see what God is doing and to encourage the disciples of Jesus. God is so good!
