Among the Nepali Christians we met some real powerful but simple
believers. Ganesh is one of them. He lives in a remote village high up
in the mountains of Himalaya. He has to walk for full day to reach a
road! But God is working powerfully in that remote village. Since our
last visit to Nepal three months ago he had only seen two families come
to Christ, but he had seen some great miracle take place before they
came to Christ.

The son of a well know witch doctor in the village
became very ill and eventually died. His wife also became very ill and
he could do nothing for her and he feared for her life. As the last way
out of the desperate situation he took his wife to Ganesh, who is the
leader of the covenant community in the village. Ganesh prayed for the
wife of the witch doctor and God immediately healed her! Then the witch
doctor called Ganesh to his house to throw out all his idols and occult
items. His father and his entire family came to Christ. Now many of the
witch doctors in the area are afraid of what is going to happen to them!

A
backslider in the village fell sick. He was seriously ill. He was in
high fever and his entire body was shaking. He urned to Ganesh to pray
for him. When he laid his hand upon the backslider the power of God
came on him and he was totally healed. As a result he came back to the
Lord and is now active spreading the good news of Jesus Christ.
Ganesh
has also started a new work in another Chepang village, even more
remote than his own village. He is a bold witness of the power of God
in that new place.
I am so happy that the Kingdom of God is advancing in Nepal. With God there is no power cuts!
