Being ministered to by a poor lady

While we were visiting Kalimpong we had a most remarkable experience during the last day of the leadership seminar we attended. We were being ministered to by a poor lady in a way I have never experienced before. We had just had a wonderful time worshipping the Living God. The teaching seminar was about to start and the convener was handing the meeting over to the teacher. Then an old poor lady came to the front. She told us that God had spoken to her and told her to do a prophetic act by buying seven honouring scarves to bring to this morning gathering. Instantly she obeyed the voice of God and here she was with a packet in her hands. The leader allowed her to proceed.

The old poor lady unpacked the scarves with great dignity. Then she put the scarves over the neck of each person God wanted her to honour. She acted so graciously, with such a gentle and humble spirit that we were rendered speechless. But more than that. As she put the scarves on the people the Lord wanted to honour that morning the presence of the Living God was manifested among us in an unusual way. We were all filled with awe. The presence of God touched every one present. Tears were running down our cheeks. We were touched the the gentle but powerful presence of the Holy Spirit released by this poor lady's obedient act of honouring some people.

The entire program for that day was changed by what this old poor lady did. The entire morning was spent in the Lord's presence honouring the Lord and one another according to his will. Later we came to know that this lady was one of the poorest in the entire church. Still the Lord told her to spend her last money on honouring scarves for seven people after the Lord's choosing. We were reminded of the story of the lady in the Bible who poured the fragrant oil on Jesus Christ. She did what she could. That is what this old lady in Kalimpong also did. She did what she could. She gave her last penny.

As a response the Lord directed us by a prophetic word to take a love offering to God. People responded tremendously. A full basket of Rupees was given to the Lord by cheerful givers in the holy presence of God. When we handed the offering over to the old lady, the congregation exploded in joy. People were cheering, clapping hands and smiling. I have never seen such joy in Kalimpong before! I was very much blessed by the generosity of the covenant people in Kalimpong attending the seminar.

I have not been able to connect to Internet for a long time, but I have been longing to be able to share this incident with my friends. God is so good. I am so grateful to God for allowing us to meet a real Saint alive. Actually we have met many saints on this trip, but so far meeting this old lady has been the highlight of our trip.
