From Thursday to Sunday Solveig and I have been visiting our family in the Stavanger area. We were able to visit my three brothers and see Solveig's two sisters and spend a lot of time with her old mother. We also had a good time with my old aunty Sara at the age of nearly 98 years. We stayed with our son David, his wife Lene and our two grandchildren Prince Jonathan and Princess Mathilde. What a joy!
Since we live north of Bergen, it is not so often we see our family members that live in Jæren, from where we come. Because of the accident we met with in India we have not been able to visit them for about six months. It was so good to see them all and to fellowship with them. I am so thankful to the Lord for our family and friends. We were eating and talking. We were sharing with one another about our life situations. We were joking and teasing and having a lot of fun as well. There is nothing like belonging to a family!
We also had the good opportunity to spend time with Arnold and Reidun who is our long standing friends since the days of our youth. And what a great joy to see Maria, the widow after one of my closest friends in my early days as a new pentecostal convert from the Lutheran state church. We were brining back treasured memories from the "old days" as well as sharing our excitements over what God is doing in our lives today.
Friends and family members are our most precious treasures! Without them we would be so poor. But friends and family enrich our lives in a way that is difficult to describe in words.
