We are living in exciting times. The Spirit of God is moving in new and unprecedented ways. From the four corners of the world we are receiving news of the movement of the Holy Spirit. And we Norwegians are not left out! Praise God, he is at work in Norway also! This morning at our weekly early prayer meeting we had lots of reports of what the Spirit  is doing among the believers in the covenant community. Young people are on fire for God. They are witnessing for their friends and they are functioning in spiritual gifts. New people are coming to Christ and are being baptised and discipled. Healing are taking place. The level of the power of God is rising among the believers.

Clearly God is up to something! I can feel the "up to something" all around me. It is happening in India. It is on the way in the Philippines. It is breaking forth in Norway; in Skien, Tromsø, Bergen, Vesterålen, Oslo etc. The Spirit of God is stirring his people to rise from the slumbering rest to engage in the works of God. Something is up. I am part of it. You are probably part of it. We can no longer go on living in the world the old traditional way. Change has come. A revolution is taking place!

These are the best of times to be a disciple of Christ in the covenant community. These are the worst of times to be a disciple of Christ in the covenant community. Our lives and communities can be instruments shaped by the hand of God to serve his purpose in our generation in spite of all the negative things that are taking place in society and the crisis stricken world.

Authentic evangelism is taking away the veil of what God is up to and to manifest to the world we are in the image of God. We are created to become conformed to the very image of God, the beauty of Christ – God become human. We become like him when we take part in his mission. Then we find that all beauty has its meaning in the beauty of Christ, and the fingerprints of God can be seen in the covenant community!

The exciting life of the covenant community is missional, relational and incarnational. This is the only life we are given through Jesus Christ. It is one life where the spiritual is not separate but the whole! Beautiful life full of excitement and exploration.
